Austin and Jamal are the only offense off the bench . If this were last year when we had a bunch of dudes who weren't even going to be in the league the next year and some picks to spare it wouldn't be a problem, we could keep most or our desirable players and get Melo for free basically with what the Knicks want for him. But we're gambling to get older with Melo, take away future picks, and gut our bench. I'm not excusing Jamal, but he's been 6th man in the league or at least in the conversation despite the bias for a reason. Sounds like you're trying to big up Melo and down everyone else. Obviously this ain't the universe we live in, but it's obvious Melo averaging 22 points a game on .5 or something TS% isn't going to put us over the Warriors so I don't know why you want more regular season wins for another post season disappointment. When it comes down to it if Luc is as offensively challenged as he was last year it wouldn't be a problem, but he can make shots and is a lockdown defender. The problem isn't what Melo can add it's what we're sacrificing.
I'm not out to shyt on everyone else and big up Melo but for some reason you act like this core just came together this year and everything will magically fall into place when the playoffs start. I wish it were the case- that Blake will black out and become "Rookie Season Blake" all over again, CP3 will be healthy and lead, DJ will make strides, the bench will excel, etc. We're on year five of this sh*t breh. Blake punched the equipment manager and broke his hand and was pretty much done for the season last year breh Crazy shyt breh.

Niccas will tell you I've been with this team for ages and I'm not seeing the jump. Hopefully I'm wrong. I can't sugar coat shyt and be on some happy go lucky- at least we're not the Clippers of yesteryear type shyt. I go to like 8-12 games a year. Five years in with this core, sorry I just expect more. I love regular season wins and no longer being the laughing stock of not just the league but of all pro sports. But come on, we got to break though at least once. I'm about the team.. Love Blake and company but after last season's shenanigans I don't know. And truthfully I blame Doc more than the players. I'd love to get a real GM in place and a new forward thinking coach in place. Doc is old school. Not even saying Melo puts us over the hump, I just want to see change. Lets see how we play tomorrow tho

Blake wasn't out because of his hand. And I agree with most of what you said, but if Melo ain't putting us over the hump all you're seeing is a change in scenery. Same room with different wall paper.

Don't give me that shyt, everyone predicted the Bulls to have a better record then they currently have. .

But completely ignore my statement about the Bulls being projected to have a much better record than they currently have.

We don't see good things for the Chicago Bulls at all. With Jimmy Butler, Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade all in the lineup, they're going to struggle shooting the ball. Team defense dropped off a year ago and they didn't get younger in the offseason.

Fall Forecast: Projected NBA standings for 2016-17 - Has Bulls at 40-42

Bleach Report - Had Bulls at 38-44 with 40% chance of making the playoffs

2016-17 NBA Predictions - Bulls at 38-44 with 41% chance of making it to the playoffs

2016-17 NBA Expert Predictions: Each team's win total; can Warriors top 73? - Five experts predicted 39, 40, 37, 30, 45 wins

I agree but I'm willing to take that chance. Really it should've been a couple of younger players coming up through the ranks behind the Blake, CP3, and DJ instead of a Melo but look at the coach and GM we have. Even though the bench is better this year its been nothing but five years of surrounding the core with washed up minimum contract vets. Really it shouldn't come down to this type of scenario but it has. Teams like the Spurs and Warriors have a system in place. A star gets hurt and somebody else fills in- same offense ran, same ball movement. If Blake or CP3 gets hurt then Doc is just throwing shyt up against the wall trying to see what sticks or fits. There's no system. He's leaned on the core way too much, damn near broken them.

I mean I agree. Doc shoves younger players in the D-League and shops picks away for nothing. I don't even know what the hell he is doing. If we get Melo I won't be mad I just don't think it's the direction I would take right now, but :yeshrug: maybe he'll cancel out Doc's horrible coaching

Melo's not good defensively but neither is Blake. At least Melo can make up the difference on the offensive end and we can have a guy that will take the final shot in close games. Truthfully I'm sick of Blake being shook late in ball games. I'm sick of it bro. I'm over it. And I don't see a change coming either. As for regular season wins, Blake isn't going anywhere. He's got movie projects in the pipeline so he's going to resign. I see CP3 coming back as well unless the Cavs fold and Bron calls him for next year. For those that love the 50 wins and is satisfied with the 1st or 2nd round exits... Don't worry,.that'll still be in place for a few more years. I"m mostly talking about the post season

You seriously think Melo can take yall deeper? You have got to be kidding. He has no takers man. Nobody wants him.

ATL…overly
Trading for Melo would improve the team if we are trading Splitter and Bazemore.

Although I want to trade both of those bums too, our focus should be on getting younger and building a championship caliber roster. Getting Melo accomplishes neither of those goals for us
