IF yall cant see the focus and intensity that AR swish is playing with now then I dont know what to tell you, and it goes way beyond making 3's

it's no coincidence that every lebron team is considered a great defensive team. Bron raises the bar and makes that fight and hunger and determination come out. you see it everytime we hear the mic up, bron is like peyton manning out there :salute:

Get the fukk outta here. We beat the Nuggets because we were flat out better
Carmelo against the Lakers in 09 WCF

Game 1 - 39/6/4 on 14/20 shooting (70%)
Game 2 - 34/9/4 on 12/29 shooting (41%)
Game 3 - 21/5/3 on 4/13 shooting (30%)
Game 4 - 15/3/5 on 3/16 shooting (18%)
Game 5 - 31/4/4 on 9/23 shooting (39%)
Game 6 - 25/2/2 on 6/17 shooting (35%)

Overall Melo shot 40% from the feild and had FOUR games where he shot below 40%. Melo came up small against us. Plain and simple. The Nuggets probably win that series if Melo didn't perform so poorly. Don't forget Ariza saved us twice with his last minute steals.

All Melo needs is an elite defensive/rebounding center, a pass first PG that can hit the 3/play defense, a 2 guard that is an elite defender, can hit the 3 and create their own shot, and a 4 with a back to the basket game and a good jumper

Get it done Phil :mjlol:

What you saying doesn't make sense because he been to the wcf playing with melo, he won 6th man of the year he won 54 games playing with Melo
Was Melo the true leader of any of those teams tho? I think that the criticisms of Melo here are about his lack of leadership and the lack of versatility in his overall game. Issues that Lebron clearly doesn't have. We can't pretend like the Bron-Melo comparisons just come out of nowhere. They came in the same year and have been friendly rivals since.

At the end of the day the Knicks issues extend way beyond Carmelo and even Phil. Carmelo's problem is I think he enjoys the carte Blanche he's given at MSG too much. But the root cause here is ownership. Guys just don't seemed focused enough on basketball at MSG.

No Melo isn't a leader he isnt a vocal leader . So what though. Who gives a fukk if your a vocal leader if your avg 27 and 7 and your team wins 54 games?

this is what chauncey said about Melo a few weeks ago

“He’s not that guy,” Chauncey Billups said on “The Knicks Blog with Anthony Donahue” radio show, when asked if Anthony could be a “loud and outspoken” leader.

“Melo’s a good friend of mine, one of the best players I ever played with, but he’s not the guy who’s going to stand up in the locker room and give this rah-rah speech and get the team to rally. That’s not who he is.”

Billups, who played with Anthony in Denver and was included in the trade that brought Anthony to the Knicks, was asked if Anthony could develop into that kind of leader at this stage of his career.

“That’s tough to ask for,” said Billups, now an analyst for ESPN. “I’ll just say this, you’ve got all that cap room, you better go find someone [to be a vocal leader]. Melo, that’s not who he is and we are who we are. That’s like asking me to be this guy with a 40-inch vertical and go in there and be dunking on everybody like I’m Russell Westbrook. You can’t ask an apple to be an orange, that’s just not fair.”

Billups went on to detail Anthony’s unique leadership qualities.

“[Carmelo] will lead by example,” Billups said. “He’s going to come to work and he’s playing for the win every night. There’s no question about that, that’s who he is. He’s a great player, he wants to win. He’s going to come to work. He’s going to lead by example, he’s not going to be vocal.”

He isn't a vocal leader so what
Nice edit. Clearly leadership isn't just some "media driven bullshyt". You say "so what?" Regarding Melo being a good leader, but that's the whole point. If Melo were a better leader he and his teams would be more successful. Stats only tell part of the story. He was getting 27 and 7 but if he had leadership qualities like Lebron maybe he would've gotten more out of his teammates. We know he's not Lebron but agin that's the point.

I've always said Billups greatest accomplishment in Denver is that he made Melo, JR, Kenyon and the rest of the Thuggets take the regular season seriously.

every season, we would regularly piss away winnable games and in the West where a few more Ws was the difference between seeing a team like the Rockets in the first round instead of the Spurs, that usually meant a humiliating first round knockout. but Chauncey cleaned that shyt up and we get a :trash: Hornets team in the first round and demolish them, ride that momentum past the Mavs and give the Lakers all they can handle in the WCF.
