If the 2 best players weren't injured the season wouldn't have needed to be saved in the 1st place.. Period

When he stayed healthy for the whole season the next year

They won 54 games (swept sas in reg )
And got to the 2nd round

Lin isnt relevant to this argument

If he ain't relevant why you keep harping on him? :heh:

They weren't injured for all the games before that when the team had a sub .500 record before he emerged.

He was healthy for the whole season after the 54 win season and how'd that work out?

Pleas and cognitive dissonance forthcoming.

Here's the thing with the Melo situation.....He was on 50 win teams in Denver himself bruh. It ain't like he was always on 30 win teams prior to being on the Knicks.

While one will say "Kawhi has been able to be groomed" and I won't fault them for mentioning that, one can flip it and say that Melo has been given the keys from the jump and has shown......you really can only go but so far with him as THE MAN. Only has made it out of the 1st round twice in his 10 post season trips is hard to spin bruh.
Strip away what the spurs have and u may say less about Leonard

exactly man, Melo was dropping 28 a game while the Knicks had some glimmer of hope, but hell even then Kawhi was only a sophmore and this argument wouldnt even be fair

this should be more-so jimmy butler vs. Kawhi

I wanna say the Spurs were a pick or two away from having a shot at Butler and/or Gobert. What coulda been :wow:

the ether

More points

Assist

Rebs

FEWER points per 36 minutes. The only reason Melo has more points at all (barely, at 0.9 more) is because he plays a couple more minutes a game for a crap team.

FAR WORSE FG% - 43% to 51%
FAR WORSE 3pt% - 31% to 48%
WORSE FT% - 82% to 88%
Less than half as many steals
Barely half as many blocks
Almost twice as many turnovers
Nearly 50% more fouls

So Melo has 1 rebound and 1 assist more a game.

While Kawhi has far better FG%, 3pt%, FT%, steals, blocks, fouls, and turnovers.

And then you get into advanced stats.

Kawhi has 26.1 PER to Melo's 20.4 PER
Kawhi has 62% true shooting to Melo's 52%
Kawhi has 6.6 Offensive Win Shares to Melo's 3.1
Kawhi has 4.6 Defensive Win Shares to Melo's 1.9
Kawhi has 8.3 BPM to Melo's 2.4
Kawhi has 4.9 VORP to Melo's 2.2

Sorry, but you tried to make this an argument based on "stats" in your OP. And on stats, Melo is getting absolutely destroyed.

Kawhi was 14th in All-NBA voting last year, listed on 79 out of 129 ballots. Carmelo was listed on.....one.

Think it'll be better this year? :lolbron:

You're in the minority opinion, brother.

I mentioned NY. He rumbled a bit in the east too, but same deal. His squads was never beating the Cavs or Heat. They made Bron sweat once or twice, but they entire team including Melo needed to show the fukk out for them to win and they didn't. The past few years they been dog food.

You mentioned NY aka his current locale aka a squad in the "leastern conference" that has fared worse than his squad in that indomitable west. Cavs and Heat have been on top at different times. There is room between the top of the conference and getting bounced in the first round and missing the playoffs 3 years in a row. How hard is it to acknowledge that dude just doesn't have the impact that his reputation or salary suggests?

And you kept mentioning him because you had no rebuttal to my overall point.

That's the inconsistency I was looking for.

54 wins season= all Melo
missing the playoffs the next year= bu...bu..but he won a scoring title :mjlol:

Tim Duncan, Hakeem, and Magic will never win a scoring title but I will take either of them over Jerrry Stackhouse :yeshrug:.
