I hate this franchise and I don't blame Melo for exploring his options.

I won't be shocked if he takes a paycut in his first couple of years and stays with the knicks TBH. Sign a massively loaded contract at the end...I am not sure if that can be structured though. Pretty sure they can write the deal however they like.

That's the feeling I've gotten. He's doing all the right things, saying "opt in" etc... but I don't think he wants melo. I think he's ready to reset the roster next year, and start from that.
