Melo doesn’t represent the 00s era though. Melo represents himself. He’s always been one dimensional, now he’s an aged former perennial all star who no teams wants because he can’t play defense and his game is one dimensional.

Nobody from the ‘03 draft class is still in the league besides Lebron

This campaign to get melo bum ass signed is laughable, dude is an inefficient volume scoring defensive liability. No contender with a smart fo is signing this cat

What about a non contender?

the coli tends to side with melo because he fleeced NY. while I feel he could play in the L today, he has burned bridges and that's why hes out. plus from what we've heard, he's not a veteran leader that most teams want. its pretty much a soft blackball:unimpressed:

its not hard to find far more useless players than melo that are still on rosters. these same players get set up with staff positions when they retire

Sprewell got a second chance with the Knicks after he choked PJ and took them to the Finals. He got offered an extension with the Wolves and TURNED IT DOWN (“I got kids to feed”). He played himself.

AI was given a bunch of chances and refused to come off the bench. Then the Sixers brought him back and let him start. He was never blackballed either.

Melo ain’t even “hood”, he’s just lazy and one-dimensional. :mjlol:

Tony Allen was way more hood than that flabby nikka and he was always a valued player. Zach Randolph was a fukkin goon and he wasn’t blackballed.

He could maybe go to a lousy team and get you some inefficient ball-stopping offense and has a name, but is not going to be on some good team as a valuable bench player. I don't know why I always hear and read about how he's going to be some good contributor off the bench.

Have you seen him the last couple years? He can't move and gets exploited constantly on pick-and-rolls. He's slow on rotating and isn't going to give you good on-ball defense either. If you're that much of a defensive liability, you have to make it up on offense. He doesn't make up for it. He's an inefficient scorer in a league that has become crazy about efficiency.

He's just gotten old. Him being compared to Lebron causes unrealistic expectations. Lebron is an anomaly. He's far more athletically gifted than Melo to begin with, has a great work ethic, and is just a genetic freak. Almost everyone else from that 03' draft is gone too. And in addition to getting old, the league has shifted in a direction away from what his strengths were anyway.
