what cause ?why do you care if Melo gets the max ,? You rather lose Melo than offerhim the max ,? Your ok with giving another eastern team Melo so he can be a thorn in the Knicks side ? Who do you think Phil is attracting here to play with no one ? What's your alternative strategy ? If it's tanking how do you you think we get bad enough to tank ? @Trip give me yoor ideas too now if These ideas involve kd or some other person who has expressed no interest in NYC then that's not a plan
Not true if you get other pieces . And it's hard to be successful in the nba without top 10 players so I'll rather meloIt's going to be very hard to be successful when you're dedicating that much cap space to one player.
And do what with the cap, space ?saving money for nothing isn't a plan and that is the stupidest plan ever unless they figured out a way to win a title without superstarsthe plan at the present time is to not give out huge contracts.
So your agreeing he's a loser . Melo made the second round on his own, what gallo been upto ?Minnesota, where he didn't have the luxury of riding Chauncey Billups coattails to the conference finals.![]()

Glad you asked! I care because locking a player into a super-max deal when they are passed their prime shackles your team to a declining commodity at an increasing price. It eats up cap room, making it harder to find players to surround him, and it makes free agents less likely to come to your team, to play with an aging star. I've been watching Carmelo Anthony since he was in high school, played against him at the old ABCD, I'm a fan... but he's never going to be worth 25 million, let alone 30 million per season. His impact on the team isn't great enough.

Yes.
Your ok with giving another eastern team Melo so he can be a thorn in the Knicks side ?
I'm going to have to interpret this one, because of the broken english... but here we go: Yes, I'm ok with somebody else giving him the max, because....
1) I never begrudge a young black man getting paid.
2) I don't think he's the kind of star that shifts the balance of the league for the duration of his contract (he hasn't been up until now, at least)
3) That means the Knicks aren't paying him the max
Who do you think Phil is attracting here to play with no one ?
Miami had no one. The Celtics only had Paul Pierce, The Lakers had no one. Basketball works like this: You draft a superstar. Or you accrue assets and trade for one. How did we get melo? He didn't "come here" ... he was BROUGHT here, via trade. How did we get him here? We signed Amar'e (with 'no one') and then traded our previously accrued assets.
What's your alternative strategy ?
Clear the cap, trade melo/tyson for short deals and picks if the possibility arises, start over. in 2015 You'll have picks and a completely free cap to sign free agents. If the market isn't loaded, you sign smartly, and leave yourself space for 2016. You use second round picks on developmental player that can be stashed and grown, and you use your first rounders smartly. If you stink next year, that's fine. Figure out who is worth keeping out of Iman/Hardaway/Jeremy Tyler and push forward. Rinse. Repeat.
If it's tanking how do you you think we get bad enough to tank ?
We were pretty bad this year without tanking. Denver has our 11th pick. That team without melo is a bottom 5 squad for next year. Gives you a shot at some top talent.
So your agreeing he's a loser . Melo made the second round on his own, what gallo been upto ?
Miami had wade , Boston had pierce and the lakers is completely different they have a historic franchise . Your whole premise is wrong your saying melo is aging and declining when the stats don't even back that up he's improved the last 2 years . Your whole premise actually is horrible when we just won 54 games with melo and role players how can you say melo isn't that kind of star ? Mans been in the playoffs every year until the one year he had a horrible roster , not to mention the east is still weak . Your not even interested in competing for a title anytime soon if your going to let him improve another team in the conference . Melo is a top 10 player at the least to most nba prognosticators but you want to try and restart with the draft ? A option that fails more often than not . I don't get how you saying. Melo isn't worth the money when you look at the max players in the nba . You have nothing to back up melo being worse at a later age since his game isn't based around athleticismBut the point isn't really "tanking" - the point is doing what's best for this team long-term. You see what Kobe is making next season? You see how bad that's fukking the lakers up?
Melo on a super-max deal is worse, because Melo as a 31-35 year old will be worse than kobe at the same age.
Gotta be objective out here, pom poms don't age well.

Building around melo is a plan , letting him go to see what's out there gets us stat and attempts to get joe Johnson . Phil has no history as a exec so well see how he pans out . I know you won't admit it even if his plan fails like you ran away from Lin being overpaid and hid from the Knicks thread when we won 54 until you saw signs of trouble .huh?
Having flexibility isnt a bad thing. Paying someone for the hell of it is the stupidest plan ever. It's actually not a plan...its a disconnected throw shyt against the wall exercise.
according. To who ? You ?You mean 37 games, right?
Look, you're in the tank for Melo and I get that. But spending half your cap on a player that isn't even top 5 (top 10 is generous) when your team has few young assets, fewer 1st round picks in the next 5 years, and an aging roster is madness. Madness that I don't think Phil Jackson is capable of.
Let him go and start over.
according. To who ? You ?
