I don't know why people keep putting hard deadlines on this. It's beyond me. Perry is clearly trying to stretch this out to make it look like he's exhausted all avenues.
This could easily go to the trade deadline. It's a mexican standoff at this point between Melo and Perry.
The thing to watch for now is what Melo says about the situation publicly after Perry has gone up there and said "the most important thing to us is relationships". Mills assured Melo he would be traded to Houston and Perry walked it back when he arrived.
