They could've had an in house solution to their lack of a Latino star with kallisto, but he's not that big a name. He can wrestle, got the mask and speaks English. Maybe down the line they break up the Lucha Dragons and have Kallisto vs ADR. ADR can pass the torch.

Pretty much.

People bytch about Del Rio's booking, but even though shyt got increasingly worse as time went by - and by his last year it was fukking horrible - they tend to forget that dude was the most protected heel for 2-3 years. Dude constantly got clean wins on TV (something you barely see from a heel on WWE unless it's a "monster") and won feuds.

At the end of the day, for whatever reason, he never connected with the US audience like they wanted him to. It was Ricardo who carried his reactions when he was getting good heat. And once WWE decided to fukk him over - like they do every single dude on their roster - by making him go solo, it all went downhill...including the way the booked him.

I hope he can turn things around this time because he's very good in the ring, but WWE forcing a push because they want a latin star is a risky move.

At least Del Rio has on his favor that most of the roster injured or not very over so he can use this 3 months before the Rumble to gain some momentum while WWE still pushes him as an important deal.

Most protected? Compared to Punk and Lesnar? Nowhere near..he was always losing to Sheamus and Cena.

I don't know why everyone is riding so hard for Kallisto. He's average to me, and he's no better than someone like say - Neville. We all know what Vince and that beaver looking mufukka look for in a star. Not to sound negative but Kallisto is a midget in a mask that's not nearly as good as what Rey Mysterio once was. The Sin Cara experiment also drastically failed and Kallisto is now associated with the failure of Sin Cara. What I don't get is why they made Hunico be Sin Cara when they could've just developed an entirely new lucha character for him. It's not like Sin Cara's botchfest had a strong enough fanbase to warrant keeping that gimmick around. But anyway...Kallisto will probably not be anything on the main roster. Rey Mysterio was the exception to the rule for being a cruiserweight megastar in the WWE, and that's only because he came into the WWE as an established mega-star and huge draw.

The WWE offer was out of the league of what AAA could afford. At 38, Rodriguez is at the stage of his career and life where it’s important to make big money now, before his body starts breaking down.
Important tidbit from Observer article that you mizarks aren't grasping ^^. Set yourself up for post-retirement or "stand up for what's right" hmm

Kalisto when allowed to work is real good and pops the crowd.

That's all fine and good, but outside of Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan - no one has broken the line into relevance being below 6'0" tall. Kallisto is not an established star like those three guys nor does he have the fan base to elevate him like those three guys. Can he get a fanbase being showcased on television? Probably, but Vince won't build around him because of his set image of a star. Evan Bourne was popular, but he was relegated to tag-teams with Kofi Kingston. Neville is popular, but he's in an endless feud with Stardust. Paul London & Brian Kendrick were over, but they just had their cruiserweight & tag title runs.

Basically what I'm getting at is - if you're a "cruiserweight" then you have to come into the WWE as a proven star for Vince to even entertain letting you have relevance on the show.

That's cool that no one tall got big pushes.. that's a Vince and booking thing. Damn sure no fault on Kalisto. Until Kalisto is pushed like Bryan, Punk , or anyone of note for a half a year...you're just assuming..much like Bischoff used to do about Austin and his limits. Who is Reigns without 2 years of protection and being undefeated all that time? Get real..

ADR fully applying the arm bar for a good minute only to have Sheamus power out of it was cringe worthy

Everyone has a price you included
If i work for a company and they had a known racist on payroll and lets him say wild shyt to me, you really think im going back there? Im going to say this once again. Vince McMahon is not the end all be all of wrestling. Never has been, never will be. Theres no amount of money that would have me sell out what i believe in. If you would, thats cool but don't assume everyone would.

hope they put some effort into his character this time round instead of just having him floating around
Truthfully, this "Mexamerica" thing with Zeb is already strange, gimmicky, and feels like a dead-on-arrival.

To be honest, I'm already tuning out.

WWE sucks are trying to be topical. Just focus on writing good feuds, ya fakkits.

Kallisto is awesome but you can't realistically build around a guy who's like 5'2. He's a midget even by cruiserweight standards. Daniel Bryan would look like Luke Harper next to him.

Some guys are just meant to be in a cruiserweight division. Rey Mysterio sucked as a World Title contender too.

Alberto is a believable ass kicker. The rest is up to booking.

mysterio only sucked as a contender cause they booked him to fail from the word go.

Plans change, ya know?

As we reported earlier this week, Alberto Del Rio has been added to the WWE European tour next week.

One of the main questions about WWE United States champion (or, as he is now claiming he wishes to be billed, the MexAmerica champion) Alberto Del Rio is whether he would be finishing up his advertised dates in Mexico for AAA.

Del Rio, as Alberto el Patron, is the current AAA champion. Prior to signing with WWE, he was advertised on at least two dates we were aware of - this Sunday at Poliforum de la Nuevo Laredo for a TV Taping where he was scheduled to team with Rey Mysterio Jr. against Brian Cage & Johnny Mundo and a 11/15 date at Gimnasio Josue Neri Santos de Ciudad Juarez, against teaming with Mysterio against Luchador Sorpresa. Whether he appears at either event, or even drops the title, remains to be seen.

There has also been a lot of speculation regarding Del Rio's pay. In speaking to someone close to the situation, I am told that a lot of money figures being tossed around publicly are almost three times what Del Rio's actual downside guarantee is.

WWE have wanted a latino star for years, anypne thought about his release and the entire situation around it being a work. He gets released with that story knowing full well he will go back to mexico and get over much bogger than he ever was because he told the E and Mexican hating cracker to piss off, and then come back to the E later over more with the american smart marks for the same reason.
