 @ paying a guy max money to be a 6th man.

Then again, that's what everyone here wanted OKC to do with Harden

Rudy's contract wasn't all that valuable.

If they would have actually kept Rudy.
They would have had that player who could have had a similar output to what Paul George is doing in Indy.
Which extends far past scoring.
The attitude a superstar minded player like Rudy has.
In a situational circumstance that Memphis found themselves in, in the wcf.
Rudy would have kept and gave them a for sure fire go-to perimeter scorer.
Who would have put forth the effort and possibly via dynamic play.
That provided the emotion, needed to keep the grizz in the lead and to win the games they lost.
Plus, they would have possibly feasted on okc even more.
To boost their emotional high,...which they definitely needed to have any chance against the spurs.
I will exclusively, leave the oj mayo talk out of my direct content with you, in this discussion.
As far, as you and I are concerned......
As, right now.....
The only difference between mayo and love is/was coaching.

Hey joe,...

01. I have to say no homo in advance.
02. Especially, after I had to change the headline to accommodate for 03. Rudy's Last name.
03. Combined with oj mayo's.

04. Anyway,....
05. I think the surprise that Memphis had for sa a couple years ago.
06. When Rudy and oj were close to the outs.
07. Will come to cause them significant issues.
08. Now, the spurs have completed their discovery zone and used their applied knowledge.
09. to build their highly pedigree'd youth movement.
10. After, last year's loss to okc.
11. Via, the dynamic wing play of harden and the combined efforts of hustle guestbook and kd.

12. I hate to say it,...
13. All because I hate the spurs, boring ball aesthetic with a passion.
14. Yet, I think we are looking at a possible spurs sweep.
15. Or, Memphis losing in five.
16. as Memphis does not have it in the cards on paper to beat sa.
17. Especially from a power post perspective,...
18. Where, Duncan is still the most pedigree'd low post player to come in the league since he was drafted.
19. I do not see marc gasol.
20. Nor, do I see msu guy[go spartans], zbo having the experience and pedigree to execute to out perform and best Duncan and his legion of
21. lower pedigree disciples. Who have the braintrust of pop and Duncan to draw from to solve the Memphis puzzle in activity in the post.

22. Mayo and Rudy will be missed.
23. As Memphis does not have the three headed monster on the perimeter.
24. Like okc, had last year.
25. That is dynamic enough to beat san Antonio.
26. When Memphis had mayo and Rudy.
27. Or, rudy was injured,...
28. While, mayo was in personality purgatory.
29. Memphis had the variable of the unknown.
30. Plus, the spurs roster was suffering from the beatdown from father time.

31. Which worked to their favor.
32. Now, that san Antonio has adjusted.
33. Plus, lost to another youth movement to show the importance and need to usher in their own youth movement with Leonard and green.
34. Plus, parker and ginob's being completely healthy and the best at being sneaky with it.

35. I do not see Memphis pulling this series out.
36. I would enjoy if they did.
37. All, because I can not stand the ballroom dancing boring ball play of the spurs.
38. Yet, it looks like san Antonio,...
39. Has once, again figured out their missing puzzle pieces.

For every extra basketball mayo or rudy wld score on defense, their piss poor defense wld have given up 2. OJ mayo is a good reg season player, but when its crunch time dis dude vanishes. Take a look at his Dall season, when they were expected to lose he was shootin da lights out. When they came a couple gms from 8th seed, dude barely even shot 40%, it got to the point they were playin mike james over him.

Also, i remember that LA clips series last year n in gm 7, i remember chris paul picking his pocket, n i remember chris paul crossin him over. Wit OJ and rudy gay on da court, means less time for allen and pondexter, n dis team clearly was winnin wit defense. Da only reason SA beat em, is cuz they neutralized big ZBO. they lost 2 gms in OT wit ZBO givin em nuthin for majority of da gms. If they still had wayne ellington n speights off da bench instead of ed davis n t prince on da team, it wldve had a bigger impact on da team.

just my 2 cents

Yes, they should've kept Rudy Gay because his "dynamic" abilities make his teammates more "emotional".

And because if they would've beat the Thunder...more?....they would've been in a better "mood" to face the Spurs?

Nevermind the comparison to Paul George, which completely ignores all non-1-on-1 offensive aspects of the game.

That is too much crazy for one post.

The same low percentage shooting mayo has.
Is indicative of the entire league.
Plus, the low bball IQ era entirely.
Yet, it means versus the spurs.
You need superstar minded players to advance against a healthy a spurs team.
As they are the highest pedigree'd and culture-based coached team in the league.
To beat that team,...
You need a core that consists of proven superstar minded players.
In all actuality,...
The griz are fighting the same type of improperly staffed squad issues.
That have plagued most teams that have lost historically against the spurs.
The rudy-less and mayo purgatory grizz took the impact of beating the father time based spurs team.
As false hope and bravado, that was all they would need to beat anyone.
When,...
Realistically and historically,...
Most older spurs teams have all suffered from legitimately letting a off loss make them retool.
It occurred when Robinson, passed the torch to Duncan.
It occurred when thug life Stephen Jackson was inserted.
It occurred when the small ball backcourt was no longer able to compete in post season basketball effectively.
Which made it so parker, was plugged in and put Gary Payton out to pasture, too.
Same as when ginob's was plugged in as well.
So, for the grizz to take their win over the father time version of the spurs.
A spurs team and FO Looking for a loss like that.
to factually legitimize they need to plug in a new character guy youth movement.
The grizz were showing their inexperience as an expansion team with a low bball iq FO, or coaching pedigree.
The grizz really have no excuse.
They are a franchise team,...
That tried to play get a character based guy culture.
Combined with an athletics based brand of moneyball.
In a league, where superstars win titles, period.
Even the spurs, have an actualized big three.
Plus, a young superstar minded auxilliary players in Leonard.
So, for the grizz to think they can replicate a moneyball culture based team with no superstar attitude minded player.
Was completely ignorant and suffers from what the Chicago bears and other market teams typically do.
Which, is purposeful mediocrity,....
You can not win in the NBA with that mindstate.
This is not baseball, or football.
Where similar to football,...
You get a weighted schedule on par to your results.
So, you can achieve then tank,...
Then take the lighter schedule to get false results to conference championship rounds, via luck of the draw.
In basketball,...
You have to put the best team out there.
Charles Barkley says it all the time.
In our sport,...
The champion really is the best team.
The grizz did not staff a roster made to be the best team.

The flaw of the grizz, was jettisoning talent.
All because the grizz has a coach who can not manage personalities.
The grizz coach is not the only coach who can not manage personalities effectively in the NBA.
The other flaw of the NBA as a whole.
Is trying to neuter black men and their personalities.
Those same personalities that enabled them to get to and thrive at the level of play they used to attain a roster spot.
you can not neuter talent's personalities.
It affects their confidence, and at that level of play.
A player with his confidence ripped away because of poor coaching.
Coupled with a coach's inability to manage multiple personalities of that ilk is a certain detractor.
Woodson, the grizz's coach, gentry, carlisimo, and a few others are why they consistently fail.
this is pro basketball,...
Not the rec league where you can toss talent in the bushes.
All because you are out of touch and incapable of proper management skills.
Especially in bball, where the talent is the sole DRAW of the business, period.

Spot on analysis, however Mike Woodson doesn't belong anywhere within the same category as the other NBA coaches you've listed as"ego-busters"

Dawg,...
If you do not admit the only way the grizz, had a chance of beating the spurs was by playing up from an emotional high.
Then, you really need to re-eval your ability to analyze NBA bball.
The grizz have nuffin on paper, roster or coaching IQ pedigree wise.
that says they can beat this incarnation of the spurs, straight up.
The only hope the grizz had was emotional carryover from defeating a father time incarnation of the spurs that no longer exists.
so, any and every circumstantial play that boosted their confidence and emotion level was their only intangible.
They could have called on to beat the spurs.
It just so happens,...
There was no player to provide those types of emotion swaying plays.
Which is all on the coaching, culture and the FO.
Thinking they could play moneyball with no superstar minded player.
