Young American males are losing touch with a critical element of true masculinity.

Masculinity is a social construct.

Our culture strips its young men of their created purpose and then wonders why they struggle.

Humans have no purpose. We just are.

Another dumb article that relies on gender binaries to further marginalize the human experience into two distinct, manmade categories. Just let people live.

This is just more lame blue-collar rhetoric, and for the people quick to jump on the dikk, this is not a new 'development' and has been around forever WWII generation said this about the Baby Boomers, baby boomers said it about Gen X and now they're saying it about us so we come full circle. Really just shows the level of intelligence of the average person if anything if you agree with this. People with their hands in the dirt, who relegated themselves to working in factories for a living, who couldn't muster the competence to do anything other than brick laying their whole lives, always try to look down on people who have the privilege to use their college education, their intellect to afford a more comfortable living. Grip strength? changing a tire? Give me a break. Its jealousy if anything. Just because daddy beat you with a switch everyday until you were 18 doesn't make you more of a man than the men you gave birth to and ended up raising. Or didn't raise. Go build a shed or something. For a generation that claims to be more 'manly' they sure do take to going online and bytch about the most trivial non issues. but teh manliness lmfao stfu.:russ:

But do the facts support this?

:jbhmm:

Are people stronger in the weakest economies?

:jbhmm:

I haven't seen any studies that measure avg strength btwn western countries and the global south. The primary variables are different. Diets and nutrition, infrastructure, healthcare and disease would be the biggest factors in determining avg physical strength.

In America however, men have gotten weaker* over the same time period that industry has declined.

*using the definition of weaker the National Review writer uses -less skilled at building, repairs, and mechanics; less informal trade training, less willing to perform physical labor; less physically strong.

So the manual labor capacity of the average males declines once the necessity of manual labor itself declines.

Shocking revelation:jbhmm:

Where does this imply weakness and more importantly why as a female are you jumping on that dikk so hard like you have any clue anyway?:yeshrug:

I agree, not a shocking revelation at all. The dude in the article however attributes it to parents.

I don't personally measure strength and weakness the way the writer in the op does. But bc this thread is about his article, his is the working definition.

i don't understand your question, but i'm just gonna say bc i like dikks. :yeshrug:

Yeah but that's just retarded. Journalism like this degrades society. People who don't have the energy to think critically won't challenge it because it's a well written piece. I'll give him that at least. But the criteria of his judgment aren't even remotely valid. He wants to shyt on millenials, but in order to do that he has to shyt on the same parents, "dads", that he prefaces claiming are more "masculine" in the first place and so his argument ends up crashing into itself. So they were more masculine but somehow didn't teach their sons the same ethic? This is some "back in my day" bullshyt at its epitome and people who shouldn't be falling for it are fallling for it.

BTW since you mention it, studies show that dikk size today is bigger than any point in history so you should be alright :ehh:

I totally just made that up but if you wanna see mine anyway hit me up.:lolbron:

Using grip stregnth as an example of masculinity is somewhat arbitary, but the general gist of it is oh so true.
