If your young with no responsibilities like a family, fresh outta undergrad and landed a job at big tech/finance/law/healthcare/ect., with PLENTY and opportunity to advance and with advancement comes a 2-3x of your current salary…. Yeah bust ya ass.


So It really all depends on ya situation and what you really want in life.

But also, I have no idea where the whole “start ya own business” came from, where the rewards arnt certain, the work is 100x harder and longer, and your typically liable for any sort of cash used to start it up. I remember seeing something along the lines of 90+% of small business fail in the first 4 years.

This is advice is good for men they work hourly jobs especially if you don’t have other shyt going on in life.

Nah…its more for everyone but the brothas working in tech and remote can likely benefit the most.

A few homies who work 40-45 hours in their corporate gigs who are base-salaried around $110k-125k(still take on smaller project/consulting gigs outside their main OR I know a few working 2 full time remote jobs at the same time).

A lot of tech work isn’t truly 40 hours of work. I used to work 50-60 hour weeks in tech constantly but found similar work with the same base but less bonus. Nowadays work 10 to 15 hours of “real work” per week. I’m considering picking up an additional remote part time job that’s related to the applications I specialize in.

The responses in this thread are yet another confirmation that many of the people on this site lie about their lifestyle and aint really living to their potential.

Most people want to be mediocre. If you want to be mediocre then work 40 hours a week, it's okay.

But if you want to be special, different, above average and have access to the things being above average gets you then you have to be working more than 40 hours a week. Very Very few people can work only 40 hours a week and reach 6 let alone 7 figures. I dont know a single legit entrepreneur that only works 40 hours a week. That shxt is for people that punch a clock.

I work 70+ hours a week but only spend about 45 hours on my 9-5, the other 25+ is spent on growing businesses I've invested in. That 60+ hours a week should be diversified so that you can have multiple revenue streams.

Facts!!!! You do the work on the front-end; the back-end should get easier. Been fortunate as I progressed through my career I can earn more on a base-salary level while working less “real-time” hours. Which I can leverage my skillsets and extra time to pickup side projects/part time/full time job w/the help of an assistant
