You get pigeon holed real quick in whatever is on your resume after 5 years.

Its hard to start a new career at 30 making top dollar, they are going to pay you like a junior role. And that choice is going to be between you and a million other college kids.

This is bullshyt. If you work hard and get certified or get that degree you're good no matter what age... This is basically saying if you're past a certain age you shouldn't even bother improving yourself. Goofy

you'll get certified, but your first job will not be paying top dollar compared to someone else who had 5 years experience in that field while you were doing your first career.

Experience to a certain degree trumps raw certs/pure education much of the time. Do you want a driver that just passed his driver's exam or do you want The Transporter?

Career changes are hard, but as long as you have experience prior to the jump over, you should be fine.

With any field change though, you have to be willing to take a hefty pay cut to get in which may not be advisable....I considered psychology or forensics, but I am not living like a college student again or giving up on the career I fought for.....

It's not really true. I can't say for men but women can go through this as well.

My mom was a lawyer for almost 10 years back in Ghana.

Once she got to America, she found that her law degree was practically worthless and barely got a position paying $50k, she was already in her early 30s by this time.

She decided to switch careers and become a nurse which is much more lucrative(especially in NYC). Went through a nursing program in 4 years and finally became an RN and got a job at the largest hospital in the Bronx(still works there today) Got her masters 5 years later to become a licensed NP and now finishing her PhD at age 54.

In both her masters and PhD programs, most of her classmates were 20 years younger than her.
Same for my mom except she was teacher and stopped at getting her masters. she's kinda hit a patch though, the VA she worked for blackmailed her

One piece advice I'd give to the young brehs fresh out of college is to never stay in one role longer than three years unless you plan to be doing that shyt long term.

Try different roles early in your career. You don't want to look up at 37 and be doing the exact same shyt you were doing at 22!

Ok but what does it matter what someone else is doing. See you're watching someone else pockets stifling your own growth bytch fakkit

I disagree with this post. Your never to old to do anything in life. As long as your focused and determined at what you want to do you'll be fine. I've seen my uncle go from being in and out of jail from his 20's and 30's to owning his own landscaping company in his 40's and doing well for himself. Your only expired to the limitations you bring to yourself. Age ain't nothing but a number

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Depends on the person, I got a friend who it seemed like it was over for, his last chance was the Fire Department and they never called him back. He started driving for Uber & Amazon Flex, which gave him the idea for his business which is basically foolproof and could make him a millionaire in a very very short time. I want him to put me on, but he's not taking any investors, he's fully funding it with credit cards & cash, and when I say it can't fail I mean it really cant unless he just doesn't push for it.
