About to be 35. Weight definitely aint dropping like it used to :francis:

Going to gym five days a week for a couple months after gaining 70 lbs during covid and after. Was as high as 280. Going hard as hell and I’ve only lost like 15 so far. Definitely look and feel better but In the past i would drop weight so easy. Diet needs to be on point can’t get away with cheating so much like i used to

But late in what respect? Has been missed?

Unless you are purely talking about a number of years.
Would you tell a 20 year old to wait til 35 to get higher education?

What’s the logic in not exercising til you are almost middle aged? The average man is already falling off physically by 30 nowadays.

This really isn’t a controversial debate. Young men should get in the gym or practice calisthenics.

The data is there. Successful men who preach exercise are out here. The obesity epidemic is not a secret. Is that really a crazy take brotha? I say way more controversial stuff than that lol.

I don’t see anybody suggesting to wait. You listed out a bunch of potential issues that aren’t a fact everyone and I replied that I started around that same time and it’s been fine.

So if you are saying it’s late purely in years then of course. But if a breh is in that situation you can start at that time and pretty much erase factors that were threats to your long term health.

What made you start exercising after 35?

Cardio is great but you need to hit weights few times a week. Muscle mass plays very important role in your health. There are bunch of studies out there that prove people with muscle mass live longer.

Muscle mass correlates with a decrease in all-cause mortality. Simply put, the more muscle mass you have, the lesser the risk of dying from a chronic disease than some of your peers.

Also, In one of the study involving people over 70 who have exercised regularly for years, scientists discovered that the participants' hearts, lungs, and muscles were in equivalent shape to those of people in their 40s :wow:

Good info. I do lift after I finish my cardio at the gym. Only maybe 20 minutes. Nothing too heavy. Only 60lbs max.

Shoulder press
Bench press

I’ll bite. I do boxing training 3 days a week. I actually run circles around the younger guys with stamina because they go hard as shyt for the first minute and then can’t handle the next 2. My ex was vegetarian and I’m used to eating that way now.
that’s a (gym) workout though

Anyone post some decent exercise routines and/or starter diets?

I feel like that's the hardest part of it all, well really discipline is, but having a decent plan so you see results in the ways you want (and not get de-motivated from lack of progress) and supporting that with a proper diet.
