Got sidetracked with a lot of other stuff

yeah with movies and raising families and label shyt, also the music industry changed too, not many of the old guard of rappers really retained that same level of music, or could release/make as much as people are putting out now, just to get noticed.

In the beginning?

DRUGS

bet that. Afterwards and from that point on, work ethic as mentioned, great rapper, lazy ass artist, chased that commercial paper as others mentioned also, which is funny cuz dude ain't really the most friendly cat I've heard, he can be an a$$hole cuz this game ain't really for him it ain't for MOST real people and he just a real down to earth chill cat who doesn't really wanna be a big star as others have ALSO mentioned. Boys have known for yearssss METH was never gonna reach that level and "could've" been one of the greats

No denying the flow tho

:salute::whew:

And meth knew where the money was and also i think, as a huge fan of his, he's a little insecure when it comes to his music

Also he's got opportunities afforded to him that other dudes in Wu don't have..hollywood came calling

Yeah he definitely had more looks than most of the Wu. Agree. Was just saying with him possibly being a little insecure in his music like you said, that's cuz he doesn't ever wanna drop something wack in his eyes. As a fan of his it's easy to see his inner true FAN come out when he talks about Hip Hop like Meth really does and loves this shyt. But he had a hard time ever living up to his own hype and popularity I guess and was either on autopilot or taking too long to drop music cuz his perfectionist ways but like I said most of the greats be that way

Salute to Meth tho he will forever and always be an overlooked great in Hip Hop

Imagine him with Wayne's work ethic :ohhh:

I get what you're tryna say but you're reaching. Trust me, had he done as much music as Wayne put out at one time trust that many would be tired of him years ago too. Wayne had a machine backing (Universal) though. Not to dismiss his work ethic and talent but people alot of people got tired of Wayne. But he kept a fanbase because he had a machine & for that reason always was popular. So kids flocked to him be default. Popularity plays a huge part in who people like & dislike. That includes most who grew up earlier. Had Meth put out that much music it would've been easier to dissect it & his talent. Im thinkg you're saying it would've made him more popular, but that aint facts.

I think the work ethic RZA, Ghost and Rae put down the line would've been enough. But like many has stated, he does seem insecure & a huge self critic. Plus im sure he had issues also.

The "machine" Wayne had behind him was no bigger than whatever Wu/Meth had in the 90's(we talking about the 90s breh)

Universal had less to do with it than you think. Wayne had the streets and the internet. The nikka had mixtape songs on the radio. Universal didn't pop up until he the hottest nikka out

Nobody really got tired of Wayne until 2012, but from 08-end of 11 I never heard something like that

In Meths case I was half joking but if he had lets say Ghost's output he'd be farther along

He had literally everything else going for him at the time
