I think Nas has a similarish thing going on. I think both had too much natural talent and had success very early. Both lack that drive to be the dude everyone else considers THAT guy for any sustained period of time.

Like swagging all over those early tracks was easy for dude. Those hooks, easy. Charisma, natural. Like you know a lot of artists TRY to be cool. Not Meth, he was dusty and rugged but was somehow the coolest dude.

But at some point you have to really try but I don't think Meth knew how too.

:whoa:

Nas actually lives up to his GOAT potential because he still releases quality albums, he still snaps on features, he still bodies concepts, he still is a treat on just about any song he appears on. His weakest two albums are really far behind him, and at the very worst, he at least shows a desire to push himself as an artist with records like Untitled, Distant Relatives and Life Is Good - even if that results with production we don't like, we can always depend on him for bars, for solid projects, and for genuine/thought-provoking music.

Method Man can body a verse once in a while, but that's where it stops :manny:

Method Man is definitely in the top 5 of rappers who should be ALOT bigger than what they are

Forget the fact he was the most charismatic memeber of a legendary NYC rap crew and EVERYONE showed Meth love from black to white man to woman and dont forget the kids....

I earned a new found respect for him when I saw him open up for Curren$y a couple years ago...he knew I guess based on the city that it wasn't really a wu-tang crowd like that and Spitta and Krit draw a younger demographic, but he rocked the hell out of the stage...by the end of it had the whole crowd in his palms and stole the show by far...dude's a great live performer

Thing about Meth is that, IMO, he got better lyrically after 36 & Tical. Forever & Tical 2000 Meth lyrically...:wow:

I also think T2000 is very underrated, as well as 421. But yeah, he should have been a staple in Top 10 conversations. Hip Hops greatest underachiever sounds about right.

Still check for him though.
