Method Man infuriates me more than any other rapper. I'm on record saying that dude is the most disappointing rapper of all time.
Dude had literally every ingredient necessary to be Top 5 of all time: rhymes, flow, voice, charisma, a standout member of arguably the most influential group in the history of his genre of music, image, a couple hit singles, a GOAT producer candidate at his disposal, and most importantly, he came out during a time that wanted him to win. A lot of people can't say that. IMO, he's the only rapper to outshine Pac and Biggie on songs with them while they were alive - hell of an accomplishment.Then you add in the TV/movie stuff?
But he's rap's only Hall of Famer without a marquee album. Even Tical doesn't *really* measure up to the *real* classics of that era, IMO. And after that, his solos just fell flat. 4:21 was cool, but it was too late. His albums with Redman were dope, can't take that away from him. But I just don't get how he couldn't put it all together when he already had so many things on his side.
He could've been Top 5, or at least Top 10. I don't even know if he makes my Top 25.
This is precisely why I rank redman higher than meth. Red has 3 classic albums that none of meths shyt can even hold a candle to. I always wonder why meth couldn't drop a classic lp. It boggles my mind. But I don't care what anyone says. Tical 2000 > tical

It's almost universally accepted that BIG outshined Bone on Notorious Thugs. You may not think so, but it is what it is. Meth beasted on Mind Made Up and Biggie even admitted that Meth got him on The What.

Meth woulda released some classic but he stay trying give us missy elliot type records when all we want is some wu shyt. all he needs is for rza to produce or just have raekwon to executive produce his album and i bet you it would be a classic. if you woulda told me back in 93 that i would have more ghostface records in my collection than meth i woulda looked at you like
