I'm not 52 Grimace was. I just haven't changed my avatar since his birthday back in June of 2023. But so what if I was 52 with a Switch 2? They sell them at the store and I'm an adult with money I can buy it.

If you 52 years old only reason you should be buying a switch 2 is for your kids or grand kids. Imagine a grey ass or bald headed ass nikka at 52 years old hunched over playing it’s a mee Mario or hearing them bytch ass yoshi sounds coming out of that and you at applebees. Your ass deserved to get flammed and you should be on how to catch a predator. If you have that with no child in site in public.

You a grown ass nikka and gaming should either be done on a PS5 or PC at that age. I shouldn’t even have to explain how bad that looks. You a grown ass nikka playing cyberpunk at 30 fps on a child’s toy.:why:

Hot take:

Totally 'fine' with the sparseness of the Hub World.

The last thing I actually needed is tons of fetch quest typical of open world titles.

Sadly tho, I do think Nintendo will have some DLC where they can add new elements to it when maybe it should have been available at launch.

But this is a GREAT experience so far this is a Metroid game and I'm happy right now

This feels like something that would have been 10/10 amazing back in 2010 :russ:

I'm not hating it or anything but it just feels dated.

I just want to hear about the controls.

The red dead switch 2 is supposed to have the best use of mouse controls, hd rumble to come to switch.

If Metroid hasn't topped that they need to start firing people.

I feel like this game having an early announcement fukked it over. As it was announced in fukking 2017 when the OG Switch LAUNCHED.

So unlike the case of Mario Kart World & DK Bananza, which started being developed on the Switch and got switched to Switch 2 exclusive. They had to make this game work for the OG Switch. Considering the fact that the Switch 2 is ~~ 10x more powerful, it is why we see a lot of the comments about it looking like a PS3 game. Well, the Switch is PS3 hardware, just more up-to-date, if that makes sense.

Should have been a Switch 2 exclusive tbh.

I think the game looking like a ps3 title is the least of its problems :francis:

Someone hit the nail on the head when they said an 8/10 nintendo game is realistically a 7/10, especially something like metroid that always gets high reviews scores

I'm enjoying this, but it definitely feels like an 8

Not a bad game at all, slightly disappointed tho

Visuals are actually incredible for a Switch game. One of the prettiest dedicated handheld games I've played

I've made it through about 3 areas so far and this isn't nearly as bad as some of the reviews made it seem. It definitely has some areas that could have been improved (the whole desert hub, some of the outdated mechanics and gameplay, Samus not talking for some reason) but overall it's a good game.

Glad I didn't listen to the reviews and avoid it as some of the things called out such as NPCs being overly annoying aren't nearly as bad as it was made out to be. It won't win any GOTY awards but it's not some huge disappointment either.

I do see people putting it at a level of disappointment as Switch Pokémon games. Nice to see its worth playing eventually.

I'm liking it. I don't find the Fed soldiers annoying so far. Hub world is actually pretty cool too, reminds me of the cover art for Metroid II.

In all of the games Samus seems to explore cavernous areas or regions that have significant density to the environment. It's nice to be able to explore a desolate alien landscape in a Metroid game.

Inspired by No Man's Sky I'd say; and the Avatar movies more so than the Alien franchise this time around.
