The liquor brings out the real you
nah, that’s a myth.

alcohol isn’t a truth serum. while it does lower your inhibitions and draw from your mind things you’d otherwise not say, it also impairs your thinking, affecting your judgment and capacity to logically and critically think.

so while it might seem as if everything you say while drunk is the “real you,” it’s actually unfiltered diarrhea of the brain that may bear traces of your thoughts and feelings, but lacks the careful consideration and contextual reflection a clear mind would give it.

You pretty much gave a long form version of what he said. Alcohol removes the mental filter that blocks the thoughts and actions that the sober mind would try to suppress. Many times have people said or did things that they wanted to say or do sober but know the repercussions.

Telling off someone when you have been holding it inside. Hitting on a woman that you would not dare to sober. No one is saying thinking is not impaired when drunk, but you do not all of a sudden turn into a new person. What is there when drunk is what is there sober, just unfiltered.

but what you say when you “tell off” someone is normally held inside not because you really feel that way and are afraid to say it, but because your rational and sober mind knows you don’t really feel that.

much of what’s said in a state of drunkenness was harbored in the subconsciousness, thoughts that you’d otherwise never meditate on precisely because your sober mind knew it was bullshyt and not representative of how you truly felt. so, when you get wasted and tell your girlfriend you always hated her and thought she was a simple bytch, that’s a feeling that was pushed to a distant recess of your mind, set free once your sober and rational gatekeeper of thoughts and feelings is relieved of its duty by that fifth of vodka you downed.

When a person is in a drunk state, their inhibitions may be lowered, which can sometimes lead to them being more honest or open about their feelings and thoughts. However, alcohol can also impair cognitive functioning, including judgment, memory, and rational thinking, which means that a person under the influence may not always be entirely truthful or make sense.

In some cases, intoxicated individuals might say things they genuinely believe or feel, while in other situations, they may be more prone to exaggeration, distortion, or even fabrication. It is difficult to generalize as each person's reaction to alcohol can vary, and the degree of intoxication can also play a significant role in their behavior.

In summary, while there might be some truth to what a person says when they are drunk, it is important to take their statements with a grain of salt, as their judgment and rational thinking may be compromised.

:ehh: @I Really Mean It is right

Detroit You bytch Ass nikka
This. Way too lenient on DUI in general in this country.
Yea I agree, but I disagree also. Of course, cause nikkas get hit much harder even if it's only a slight buzz. The thing here, it's not illegal to drive after having drinks. It's illegal to drive while you are too drunk to make proper decisions on the road, and all that is relative to the person. I haven't been "drunk" in years and if I'm drunk and gotta drive, I'm parking and sleeping in my car (wit pistol on lap). But I have friends who actually did this, and eventually was approached by police and still got a DUI, AFTER REALIZING THEY WERE TOO DRUNK TO DRIVE AND ACTUALLY NOT DRIVING.

Now, I break the law daily because I'll drink a beer while driving daily, I never drink enough beers whole driving to actually get drunk, but I know if I'm ever flicked by an unnecessarily curious officer, I'm catching an open intox charge. But............... Drinking a beer and driving is comfortable imo. Not saying it should be legal, but millions of people do it daily and never get into an accident. How to sort the relativity to the person, I don't really know.
