Kidnapping NBA players for ransom will become a thing

This is the first thing I that came to mind dealing with Mexico City. The Cartels do what they want, police are routinely bought off, corrupt local and national governments, etc. No way you put a team in Mexico

Vancouver doesn't deserve another chance at an NBA Franchise. I'd rather see other Canadian cities get their first crack like Calgary and Montreal before BC gets a team. Horrific attendance when the grizzlies were there from what I remember.

Mexico City is a lot of fun but the security measures would have to be flawless.

One of my best friends in college is from a wealthy business family and we rolled around with a full security detail because ransoms / kidnappings were so prevalent

Why? Not only do they speak a different language but Mexico city is literally hours from the US border

Mexico City is no where near the us border. Mexico City is basically central Mexico. It is not a border city. It’s at least 5+ hours flight from southern Cali.

You probably right now that I think about it. As dope as it'd be to have an NBA team in Mexico City, I'm not too confident that the country is stable enough to actually house a team. Too much can go left.
