People are brainwashed by what they see on TV so they think Mexico is like Iraq. Sure, there are some parts of Mexico that you should stay away from because of drug wars but it's a big country. There are plenty of safe places. It's like using Detroit and Chicago to try and discourage someone from visiting the US.
Costa Rica and Mexico are the two countries where most US retirees move to. The weather is better. The culture is better. They have better values (family first). Better food. Cheaper real estate. Although the native black people are treated poorly in Mexico. Black Americans are treated as gods. Once they hear you speak English they will kiss your ass and uncontrollably smile (like they do in many other countries).
To answer OP: Yes, Mexico is vastly superior for black people. Do the research.

Trying to convince people to move out of the US is a lost cause. Some people just DO NOT want to leave the plantation. It's 2016 and they're still hanging black people from trees. This country is beyond fukked up. We have to deal with rising debt, rising unemployment, mass incarceration, dwindling job market due to globalism, rising student debt, dealing with the police who possess military equipment, post-modern feminism making our women increasingly undesirable, record high divorce rates, rising gas prices, an increasingly tyrannical government who spies on people, subpar school system, GMOs, dangerous chemicals in our foods, contaminated water supply, etc. Mother fukk this country. You have to be a god damn fukking idiot to want to stay here black or white.

I'm not going to invalidate this guy's experience, but notice he said he's around Afro-Mexicans, "his own kind" who are denigrated and ostracized by the greater Mexican population. Mexicans are racist ass fukk. And I don't care how many chicks give him play because they think he's related to Kobe Bryant or can get them a green card, the vast majority of Mexicans have repulsive beliefs about darker skin in general. They don't even treat the dark Natives there right. Being American definitely changes the dynamic there. I don't advise anyone to run down there thinking all of Mexico will be a black mans dream.

In many of these Latin American countries they have street vendors who cook their own shyt and sell it to you. Imagine trying to do that in the US. You need to go through red tape and acquire licenses, permits, pay taxes, etc. You have US cops shutting down lemonade stands (Texas Police Officers Shut Down Girls' Lemonade Stand Because They Didn't Have A Permit | Huffington Post). You have US cops arresting 90 year olds for feeding the homeless:
