Not proud to say it: never played MGS IV or V.

If you played 1,2 and 3 then I guess the series ended on the the highest note for you.

IV was aight but V just left a bad taste in my mouth despite it having the GOAT gameplay in the series.

Once you get quiet its bliss but honestly just end the game after you clear your base of the infection


It's a game that does not know when to end

Most open world games have that flaw

There a certain level of challange and as you get better guns and more gear and you become a one man wrecking team

The ai is pretty good- it set up traps and attacks in groups

Capture solider make your base stronger and get better gear


The core game play loop was very satisfying

V is better than IV to me even with the game being unfinished. The gameplay was just that damn good, while IV barely had any gameplay at all, and the story was next to Mgs 2 in terms of wacky crazy illogical shyt going on, rather than the more grounded plots of mgs 1 and 3.


mgs4 was just not good to me, while mgs5 was a good but incomplete game.

The enemy getting salty you wrecking their shyt and start setting up claymore, wearing helmets, and getting nightvision goggles.

I had medicine for that, pussies . CQC them into the dirt, then interrogate 'em and have them tell me where their buddies were

MGS4 was the end for me... MGS5 was nothing more than a money grab by konami that just wanted to milk the series... it ended nicely at 4 there was no reason for a full blown prequel when we already had that in MGS3!!!

Never finished it. Konami and Kojima's drama poured over into the game. Learning that there was an entire third act that was cut out soured me on completing it.

if I remember correctly the last real battle was against some random Metal Gear and then you flashback to the hospital correct?
I just remember when Kojima said this was MGS "V" not MGS 5
