Mario's record was terrible at FIU. That would be a terrible hire.

You do know the year before he started they were 0-12? FIU football was embarrassing to the city before he came thru.

He took them to their first bowl game and winning season. First coach to have an over .500 record (back to back). If you don't know about the program you'll have no prospective on that accomplishment. That was huge for them.

Also he coached a handful of FIU's first NFL prospects (TY Hilton was more of a basketball star in South Florida before going to FIU). What he did for that program went beyond wins and losses. There's a reason he's apart of Alabama's program now.

Sounds like Golden? What he do well? recruit, lol, just like Al. Did he ever win 10 games? nope just like Al. Ever win his conference? Didn't he have a losing season when he returned 20 starters?

He actually did recruit well while at FIU. He was named recruiter of the year by 247sports this precious recruiting cycle as well:
Alabama's Mario Cristobal is 247Sports Recruiter of the Year

Temple is not FIU. It isn't comparable. FIU football began in 2002. He became coach in 2007. Temple has a football history and at the very least players from that state knew they existed.

If you're from the city I wouldn't even have to explain it. FIU wasn't about shyt and people didn't even know they had a football team until he was coach.

Rewind five years, and it sounds like the same shyt said about Golden at Temple. We can't afford to go that route again. Miami needs a guy that he has proven that he can coach and WIN at the power five level.

keep Cristobal the fukk away from this program

the reason he's on Alabama's staff is to recruit South Florida kids...oh yeah and Bama's O-Line that he coaches has looked like absolute shyt, FIU after TY Hilton left was complete ass as well

y'all nikkaz looking for a recruiter as a head coach kill me...let's hire Ed Reed as HC, with Ray Lewis as DC, and Reggie Wayne as OC..we'd get all the recruits then right:troll:

but but but Miami is dead, kids in South Florida all want to go to FSU, Alabama, etc :troll:

Amari Cooper story was especially bad, kid was rocking Miami gear all the time in high school, came to Golden's camp, killed the competition, etc and still the staff didn't want him to commit right away :snoop: he went to Bama football camp the next week if i remember correctly, Saban jumped on him and the rest is history

yeah, apparently the staff thought that Herb Waters was on the same level as Amari was, so they didn't sweat him that much

no disrespect to Herb but :snoop: at that decision

nikkas in here talking about "facilitates":what: WE NEED A COACH! aint none of you cacs and bamas never been on um campas or coral gables. coral gables is better than 95% where yall live at
I've played basketball at the UM gymseveral times:yeshrug:

Issue is, is that they need an indoor football field and their is no where on campus to build that. The campus is pretty small. I think fiu campus is much bigger.
