Could be Michael B Jordan’s role of his career if the franchise carries

It's interesting with him, because while Creed is currently his defining franchise with 3 movies, he's still young enough by Hollywood standards (38) that he can still find something more lucrative than that. i.e. Tom Cruise was 34 when he did Mission Impossible 1 (1996), Keanu was also 34 when he did The Matrix (1999), and Arnold was 37 when he did Terminator 1 (1984).

The most money MBJ ever made wasn't BP (2mil) or Sinners (4mil) or Creed 3 (5mil) but was his Tom Clancy movie on Amazon (15mil) several years back which earned him as much as his three Creed movies combined. Unfortunately that shyt crashed and burned critically.

Suffice to say, he's approaching that crossroads of what type of seasoned actor he wants to be, or is capable of being.

Glen Powell seems to really love starring in remakes and sequels of old movies and TV shows (Top Gun, Twister and now Miami Vice).

I think I like Butler for this more than Powell, was hoping Damson could play Tubbs.

Butler was the logical choice outside of a newcomer. Glenn Powell is not the one.

They’ve got the director, writer, vision with sensible casting picks thus far. I wonder if Benecio Del Toro would consider playing Castillo since he did the guest spot back in the day

Butler>>>>Powell. I like Powell but he's too clean looking to play this role imo. Butler is also a much better actor with more range. You need somebody who can morph between suave and dirtbag a$$hole. Butler is perfect.

MBJ is a great casting too.
