What do you feel about the criticism that dyson is a little too camera friendly. I know public intellectuals take pride in being somewhat lowkey and dyson is the biggest offender. For the record I probably like him and Marc Lamont hill the best.

Who people side with with the Dyson vs Cornell West debate and why?
I'm not black but...
I don't think it's an either/or thing but Cornell West is way out of line ranting and calling everyone from Obama to other intellectuals all sorts of names... MED is right about that I think.
Funny thing is there's a potential psychological angle to this... Cornell West said himself that he was upset he didn't get invited to the inauguration.
