looks generic as hell like damn near every music biopic. There's too many moving parts if you want to make a unique music biopic: you need actors that look like & can copy the energy/personality of a legendary musician, and you need a writer that knows about the era they are writing about and the artist themselves and their life story who can put all that into a cohesive 2 hour film. Not to mention the singing/performing, cinematography, editing, costuming and set design. Also these artists often knew other legendary artists, actors, athletes, etc and you have to cast actors to play them properly too, even cameo roles. :mjlol:

That's why documentaries and concert films almost always work better for these kinds of stories.

Good decision IMO. I’m sure someone like Fuqua wants to celebrate black excellence, going past bad requires you to bring in all the drama. Best way to completely shut down those foaming at the mouth to “but akshually” MJ, is not even entertaining that timeline.
Is it not part of his life :what:it’s a bio pic

I feel like most biopics are pointless now for this exact reason. Everyone that's getting a movie about them has been in the public eye and on camera for decades.
Biopics only work if they give us the nitty-gritty. The details only close family and friends would know....not just the good, but the bad and ugly.

Puff pieces are fine for people that are lesser known to the audience.

For someone like MJ, it doesn't work as well because we already know so much about him. I wouldn't want Mike getting raked over the coals.....but are we going to learn anything we don't already know?

Jackson's are too tight to allow a candid, unfiltered look at their brother. I don't blame them.

:gucci:Im serious....I also met Henry Osawa Tanner too. He was my tutor and was getting pissed I'm from Louisiana and didn't speak fluent French. Anyway we were in Paris and he was obviously pissed off at my self portrait, he wanted me to master my technical skills before venturing out to abstraction and abstract forms of expression.

Anyway, I left his studio in downtown Paris and came at the Crossroads. As I was walking the cobblestone turned from Parisian to New Orleanian. I stopped and said WTF and then looked up and seen Old New Orleans....where Degas visited and even what led to early forms of jazz. What is crazy is in the distance was New Orleans and behind me was Paris, France. Right there two worlds of art forms.
