but he was an azzhole more than not. don't care what he says in the camera.
All great athletes are a$$holes. All of em. Don't fall for that nonsense.

Just stick to the NBA for example, every single one of these nikkaz considered legends in the game were a$$holes.

Right...this seems like such a waste of a Jordan interview. I thought he would come in throughout the season and give his insights on big games and in game situations and how he approached them, and how he believes certain players approach them now.

But this is just lazy. 1 long interview broken into smaller pieces trying to get engagement where it's basically "old man saying old man things". This is the first misstep NBC has taken in their coverage thus far.

They definitely fleeced most of the public on this shyt. but many were already like :patrice: on this shyt. No way in hell was Mike doing live/taped weekly interviews with these nikkaz. :mjlol:

48 minutes in today's NBA is not the same as it was back when Jordan played. So talking about load management without that context in mind is disingenuous to me.

get your cardio up then
mikal bridges manages it just fine

I'd be pissed paying tons of money to watch a game and some nikka whose healthy is just sitting on the sidelines in a suit giggling

The only reason my GOAT gave a flying fukk about the fans in the nosebleeds was to cuss them out and make them fans that would buy his shoes :wow: :umad:

I always wonder how his psycho mindset would've worked with social media. I think he's said it would've been difficult for him but for a guy that was reading local newspapers to get motivated, Twitter alone would fuel him to play every game and go for the jugular each night to prove people wrong :russ:

The whole "I took it personally" mentality would be on a whole nother level, lmao.

NBA basketball is way more physically demanding now than it was then as well.
True.

80s was fast paced but 90s/early 00s was much slower outside of Nellie's Mavericks, Adelman's Kings and D'Antoni's Suns. Plus these dudes have a lot more financial incentive to take it easy.

Average/mid-tier guys likely make more $$$$ now than All-NBA nikkas did 30 or 40 years ago. The ol skool guys had to play. The current gen...a lot of them dudes are set for life after 5+ years. Not to mention we got Euros coming in already as professionals and American brehs with the NIL money. Dudes getting drafted today ALREADY got a bag before shaking Silver's hand.

I also loved how he acknowledged he was the last guy to go out and tell people to use the rest of day to heal yourself and prepare to play. MJ's recovery sauna was a going to the golf course and to a casino to spend money :mjlol: there's just some athletes that are legit built different (like Maradona staying alive all those years after ridiculous substance abuse and being able to lose weight and be functional with 6 months of sobering up).

Overuse injures.

Brehs like Bron and MJ grew up playing multiple sports.

These young bois nowadays go from rec league to AAU to middle school/high school teams etc. No football, track, baseball, wrestling....you gotta train different muscles. These dudes get to the NBA with crazy mileage on their bodies.

Those that actually have a track to the nba or at least D1 are pretty much carrying a professional work and training load from teeange years onward

That was not always the case

Lost in all these discussions is the simple fact (well, maybe it isn't that simple) of players just wanting to prove that they're better than the next guy, and doing so against any opponent. That's also what made All-Star Games usually more competitive, because all them dudes wanted to prove they were better than the best. Good or bad, I do believe that players had more of that mentality, maybe up until the mid 2010s.

Also the point of teams losing synergy and players losing rythm with load managing is also lost in the discussion. Teams are not machines were you can just take a part out and put it back in and it will work exactly the same way as it did before.

In what way? dudes running from 3 point line to 3 point line, never picking up full court, and only going hard in the playoffs. Not to mention teams don’t practice like that anymore.
Guys were only guarding out to about 18 feet when Jordan came in the league, the paint was packed, and teams would shovel the ball into the post players. Players didn’t have to cover anywhere near the same amount of space on defense. Guys who were 6’8 were power forwards, now those guys are point guards who are moving exponentially more.

So one player who is able to play a full slate proves what exactly? It seems like he is the exception. This is even if I'm granting the false premise that dudes back than played every game, which they didn't. Clearly the game has changed and guys are being held out more, so what's the point of moaning about it.
