But even on here you aren't going to really stay up to date on what's happening game to game on baseball or hockey or tennis or golf. We get some highlights here but we aren't getting highlights for every game or see who performed well. We just see the crazy highlights on here.
you aren't getting that on Sportscenter either.

They primarily cover the sports they own rights too.

Yes there's a young generation of fans who get their sports news and highlights through different means but there is still a huge portion of the population that gets their info the old fashioned way through watching sportscenter.
and with most entities, they move younger because they will live the longest.

The stuff you're suggesting takes even further away from what the purpose of a sportscenter show is supposed to be about. The ideas you're suggesting I think would work more for an ESPN2 type deal. I think a big mistake ESPN made is basically making both channels the same. I think if they added more variety between the two channels it would go far. ESPN News as well.
Sportscenter is a relic. I am saying take it away from that because that's not how we consume info anymore. And its not even good.

I just looked at Sportscenter as the nightly news or morning news for sports fans. Something to kick on and just go to sleep with or have on while getting ready in the morning to get a picture of what happened during the day. To me the biggest mistake is ESPN only focusing on the big stories and having 3-4 sections of a show devoted to the same topic. There will be games that occur where you won't even see highlights for them or nothing said about them. After a while it's overkill because they are rehashing the same topic all day on all the talking heads shows so that by the time sportscenter comes on there is no point in watching.
I agree with that, although the big stories do need more coverage.

the problem is the world, information, etc travels faster than waiting on sportscenter.

it's fine to have SC, but they have it on too many hours a day, especially when they have so many channels. they also keep trying to give it the importance it had in the 90's/00's when people NEEDED a highlight show. you don't NEED SC, it's nice to have on as noise in a bar/restaurant, but is not imperative to getting highlights and scores today and it's no longer differentiator or anchor program for them. they need to stop trying to position it as such and just accepts the fact that SC is like threat said, the morning/nightly news. SC should air 6-9am (catch up on late games or overnight developments while getting ready for work) and 9pm-12am (get the end of the day news/fall asleep to it at night), that's it. or just let ESPN2 be the news/score/highlight channel and build better programming for ESPN main.

ESPN is like CNN or MSNBC, meaning 24 hour programming, it's not your local tv station. What's going to fill that 12hr gap from 9-9 and then from 12-6? a lot of people don't have a 9-5 life schedule. ESPN did fukk up with having too many channels, and then having shows compete against each other. I don't like what they did with SVP's show, it's aight, but his other show was better. ESPN should consolidate all of their channels and stack their shows back to back and reduce the length of the shows, they should and could be an hour and a half at best.

they have programming filling that space now :what: first take starts at 10 and SC aint back on til 6. you don't really need a 6pm SC, between games and if they put effort into a few new types of programs, they're full until 9/10pm. and the people who don't live 9-5 aren't going to die with no sportscenter - that's a moot point, especially if ESPN consolidates channels and and just makes 2 or news the 24/7 news/highlight/score channel.

ESPN was cool in the beginning but it got changed up quick once the trump effect and NFL protests started dividing the network

They should've just negotiated more money for His & Hers, I tweeted Hill before they even started the show and told her shyt was going to go different. She was like "naw, what you think they hired us to be?" I told her it was going to be different because they were being paid more money, so the execs were going to change shyt.

Now how could I, ole barely middle class money making Black man could see what a Nationally recognized, millionaire, educated, "media savvy" Black woman couldn't see? They don't pay you money to stay the same, they pay you more to change you because they feel that they have a right to.

Ya know, in government a lot of times to rid themselves of an employee who they feel is an issue they will promote and move them to a different area section just to have them removed.....much like that when mike and jemele were moved to SC I knew it was over. Having a show like his and hers is a dedicated creative venture that takes more investment and time than simply filling a slot of a repetitive industry run of the mill show like sports center. The move was just ESPN’s p*ssy way of getting the duo off the screen slowly but surely. They were demoted through pay raise and this happens all the time. Just shame they were so caught up in the entertainment world that they didn’t understand employee employer dynamics especially when it comes to being African American. Jemele got put on the Sunday “real journalism” show, mike was boasting ratings for his and hers and both began to smell the roses too soon I feel...just a lil naive. If Skip Bayless, Jim Rome, Mike Greenberg, Dan Patrick or any other white journalist with a show had there show removed they would have left the network instead of taking a pay hike to fill in on a lower platform.....but jemele (and more likely) mike’s naivety led them to work with this set up. I like mike, but he trusts whites in media and the (supposed) rapport he has with them too much. He’s a black man and she’s a black woman and cacs gonna cac end of the day.

I think it'd be entirely possible for Mike and Jemele to start their own podcast/show with someone like Vice or Complex, but I also acknowledge that's a MASSIVE amount of risk on their part even after taking the hits they already have
I feel you on the rest of what you said, but after seeing a show featuring Gilbert Arenas and fukking Mia Khalifa find a niche, they could make it happen I believe.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
believe the white man when he says SC6 will be just like your old show or even better, black tv sports journalist breh(ettes)
i knew that shyt was doomed from day 1.. some shows ain't built for prime time tv.. they never had a chance and was too busy drinking that "but it's a promotion" nonsense.. nothing will beat having your own show, built by you, from the ground up..

they both accepted giving that away and now one works at a newspaper and the other is just another sportscenter talking head

shyt didnt start hitting the fan at espn until they finally had to start cutting checks on that new nba tv deal they overpaid for, at the exact time they started shedding millions of cable subscribers every year. way less revenue flowing in, and way more flowing out. shyt got real, quickly. has nothing to do with trump or nfl protests , they were losing (not losing as in the red, but relative to what they were making) a whopping dollar amount years before trump or anyone took a knee for an anthem simply because people were cutting the cord and less people were subscribed to cable platforms every month
