I think there is a lack of original writing in hollywood generally, either they re make classic films and 9/10 the re make is worse, in some cases it is actually an insult to the original film. Then they make more recent films once, it does well in the box office so they make a second, then a third even a fourth, not even bothering to change the name.

Is it laziness as she says? , or is it that directors, the corporations who make the films don't want to try new ideas in case they flop?

With bond, instead of changing the race, why not have bond with a male black side kick and give the other spy a big role in the film,another 00? The strikes me as more original and also more plausible . . I don't believe his race should be changed just for the sake of it.

I don't see whats the problem making bond black, 007 is a designation. shyt if they played it by the book sean connery shouldn't have played bond being from Scotland. They certainly have no problem turning bass reeves, a black man into a white lone ranger, or no problem giving david carradine a role designed for bruce lee in kung fu. It seems only to be an issue when white characters are changed

This. There's already enough established Marvel & DC black characters that don't get enough push. So I never understood why nikkas are OK with race switch established characters for the sake of diversity.

The only instance I can see of a 'race switch' that I'd be OK with is 007. My understanding was the prerequisite for Bonds is being British so Stringer would be perfect for Bond but seeing how well Kingsman did, 007 can go fukk itself.

I'm not for a black Peter Parker when there's a black Spider-Man in comics. Green Lanterns are a fukking rainbow coalition so there's nothing to switch there. What other white superheroes are being stolen? Aquaman?
