For the same reason you look BOTH ways before crossing the street: to lower the probability that you'll get hit by a bus.

Nothing is absolutely guaranteed to work 100% of the time, but the best we can hope for (at this time) is to make the odds against mishap more favorable to us.

Vaccination accomplishes this with the least amount of harm to the population. Granted, there will always be outliers, but the statistics and history pretty much show that vaccination works a whole lot better than flipping a coin in the air.

I'm 100% fine with people not getting vaccinations for their kids, but it should be in writing and documented somewhere so that if the kid gets sick as result of not getting a vaccination and there isn't a legit medical reason why, they should have to pay for all treatment of the disease OUT OF POCKET.

I'm not. Herd immunity. I'm fine with you not vaccinating your kids if you just keep them around you and their family.
I'm not willing to let the sick child of "your principals" potentially kill elderly folks and actual immune compromised children and babies.

Keep your non immunized by choice children away from the rest of the population.
