Say Xbox is patched 1st to nerf a weapon, but PS4 not patched yet. Do I cross play without the patch and play with OP weapon? Or do I have to wait?

For example it took the X1 a couple weeks to get 2k patches.

I'd think they'd have to wait for both platforms to be patched before hand or they'll just simply have the matchmaking pool not work for either platform that doesn't have the patch yet.
