I hate to be a pessimist, but I have a feeling this is pure fukkery and they are going to pull some shyt like,

"Oh it's just sharing content and achievements and stuff across consoles" :francis:

But I pray to GAWD I'm wrong :blessed:

Phil Spencer is clearly by far the best executive in video games today. Between this and them pretty much merging the Xbox and Windows 10 gaming platforms he's showing he can do no wrong. He should have been running shyt from day one.

Of course I expect Sony to block this because it's Sony but the fact that Microsoft took the wall down on their end is impressive.

Just thought of another reason why this won't fly. They wouldn't want to let you send friends request to people on another console, shyt you might buy the competition just to play with your new friends on the other console. Ain't no way Sony nor Nintendo doing this and until yesterday MS wad he'll bent against it too. :mjlol:

But Sony hasn't had a wall on crossplay since PS2 days. I'm not sure I see a reason for people to assume they'd suddenly be against this when they're currently allowing crossplay already.

I heard PC brehs bout to eat real good offa this :mjcry:

from my FB thread
"FPS players on PC will have an INSANE advantage over Xbox players, cause they have the far superior control and precision of a mouse. I'm not a PC guy, and have always played consoles, but even I can attest that it's not even CLOSE comparing accuracy and response times between mouse and controller.

Inevitably, this will cause butthurt and complications."

I've heard over the years developers say that Microsoft were the roadblock before for crossplay with games last gen where Sony was open to allowing that game to cross play.
Hell, Portal 2 was a straight up "link PSN and Steam" together type thing.

It's crazy how Microsoft have spun this announcement to look like they are bringing something new here when they've been the ones who were trying to keep their ball at home and now people are like "Come on Sony what's the hold up?"

The revisionist history going on here:wow:

Oh and last but not least the biggest reason of all why PR Phil announced this non announcement today is because Sony will dominate gaming news this week starting tomorrow with the PSVR price and release date reveal.:troll:

Sony is the big fish in the home console market. Let's not act like they're pro-consumer either. This is the same company that released PS2 games on the PS4 and if you already own those games you'll need to rebuy them to play them. Them allowing you to play games with friends on a direct competitor's product has no benefit for them.

I didn't imply that.

That's wack. The only plus I see is at least the PS4 versions aren't the same exact version as the PS2 classics(up scale, trophies, system features support etc.)

Them allowing you to play games with friends on a direct competitor's product has no benefit for them.
Idk... I don't think in reality the average person is really going to know this or take all this into consideration. People are still going to be on PS4 with other PS4 players and those already on Xbox well, nothing's changed.
