I believe it's as simple as MS not restricting Xbox Live from working with other networks. It's on the developers and Sony to take the next step going forward.I'm not saying it's not possible. And I'm not saying I don't want it. I'm just saying I think you guys area little too soon. Its not like MS can announce something for PS4 and they purposely made their statement vague. Every article being posted that claims this to be an official cross platform announcement is taking the MS statement and adding their own words to it. I'm just saying, the statement from MS wasn't specific and most times there's a reason for that. I would be getting jiggy with the rest of you if the article read "MS and Sony announce cross platform play".

Good thing every game isn't made by Activision.
And I don't think 3rd Party devs would stand in the way of this, if anything, it would be Sony who would block this piff from occurring? This would keep game's activity much more lively during it's life cycle. I honestly don't see how this is a bad thing for game developers at all.

Allegedly Sony and Nintendo have been cool with multiplatform online for the longest, or at least with each other. This will be the first time they directly state whether they are cool with joining Xbox specifically though.

Every console generation has evolving tech.so pretty much the Xbox one is in beta. Because none that shyt MS been touting is fully fleshed out at all breh. Hell if u going to drop a bomb like this. At least have backing already in advance from the Activison, EA, Take 2 & hell the most important one of all SONY. Thats all im saying.
A lot of the stuff Sony announced for PS4 either hasn't been implemented yet, or hasn't shown up in the way they said it would.

Neogaf are smart geeks but they have no business sense, zero, zilch. Honestly we simply don't have enough info to judge weather this makes sense for Sony or not. 1st of all MS will benefit more greatly from cross playing with PC especially since all there games are going there anyway. Why not announced a cross play program with Steam? Oh I know, it's cuz they want to compete with Steam with there Windows 10 game store. Gabe Newell is not too happy about this. Epic games CEO don't trust them nikkas at MS either. He thinks they are trying to monopolized PC gaming store fronts and put everyone else out of business. Fun fac. MS approached Sony in the late 90's before PS2 launched to make a OS for the console. Ken Kutiragi told them know and said "Microsoft will compete with us" 2 years later og xbox launched. Sony was never dumb enough to trust MS and won't start now. But never mind that. Let's talk lagistics. If it's not extremely trivial to technically make this happen and requires actual work on Sonys end they sure as he'll won't do it there's no money to be made. It's actually a small risk to let MS plug in to PSN. You want to set tight guidelines to ensure MS doesn't try to market to your gamers. Sony really doesn't have anything to gain here. Sony have there own plan for distributing there games outside of PS4. It's called PSNOW and it's on TVs, I pads and shyt. People don't want to be tied to PC'S no more. MS also doesn't understand that either.
