should be interesting to see how this develops and the direction xbox goes. innovation is a good thing so i'm for it.

makes me wonder if microsoft would do this if they were in lead of console sales or close

Basically if devs implement this, it helps them push the narrative that even if all your friends have a PS4 you can still play them online in 2K/Madden/COD etc if you get an Xbox

Yes.....Really. Do you have a source that quotes Microsoft directly announcing that ANY of their games will be cross platform online with PS4? Because this entire thread is once again people running far left with a simple quote and stating their speculations as fact. The statement was left vague because they know they can't just flat out announce this on their own, and like I said from the beginning, the who thing sounded political. I would imagine it would work the same way it does when players on the console that has the exclusive content don't have the DLC downloaded. Either way, I'm sure they would be able to easily resolve that issue.
