Hopefully they're including a new UT in the process, that's all I ever looked for from them aside from gears.

last I heard Cliffy B is working on a PC shooter (not with Epic obviously)

the problem is all that money and "ambition" don't always come together. people don't like to invest in something risky. for that matter, if they were really "ambitious", they would invest in a new IP. wasn't Gears 3 supposed to be the 'end of the trilogy'?

They did something risky, years ago, they invested in Gears of War and were handsomely rewarded for it. Yes, new IPs are wonderful but you don't forget about what got you to the point that you are. Gears, for a lot of people, represented firsts with games, online co-op through the mission and the intensity of the game. Good feelings are associated with the franchise. All companies shoot for franchises that are well-received. I want Halo, I want Gears of Wars, as I do Uncharted and God of War. If they are successful and thus, these games are, we will see another iteration of them.

Oh.... I see..... Well.... I like Gears don't get me wrong..... But I'd been more happy if this was done about ME.

That game becoming multi, I feel the pain about that like Sony Stan's felt when MG became multi or even back when GTA came over
Metal Gear was never an exclusive Sony title. They've launched on multiple consoles. Metal Gear Solid 1 had a Gamecube remake and Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the OG Xbox too. Only MGS4 so far hasn't been on another platform.

Gta same thing, GTA games technically weren't exclusive as they dropped on PS1, Dreamcast, and the PS2 era ones dropped on PS2 and PC later. The only title you can say that really went multiplatform was the mainline final fantasy titles. FFVII-XII were all PS exclusives for a while.

but what is it when it's been taken from it's creator and original studio? imagine if the next GTA wasn't made by Rockstar. would people not have doubts about it's quality?

Yes but no one remembers that or cares about that....

It's kinda like how blacks created Rock & Roll and House music..... No one cares or remembers that, it's associated with white folks! :shaq:

If rock star said they were done with the franchise, then I think fans would be happy that the franchise will live on.

At least that's how I feel about gears. Add that to the fact that they got one of the head guys from the original games to lead the project, and micosoft has huge pockets and incentive to make the game special.

I don't think quality should be a concern.

Just like how Frank O Connor is with 343 from Bungie, Rod Fergusson is with Black Tusk from Epic. They understand the vision and as long as they get what they need, they are fine. It's why I laugh about Rare, Gregg Mayles, the creator of Banjo-Kazooie, is still there. I just wish that Microsoft hadn't changed their role as far as game development, they do system stuff basically for the 360 such as tech for Forza and Fable.
