Hopefully they'll give me extra for my S :lupe:
I am starting to doubt I will even bother with the S TBH, I am not even paying for it and I'm like...but the Scorpio comes out in a year :ld:

Could use that credit towards a 1080 which I have no idea why I want :yeshrug:

You know what I have my eye on? An xbox one elite...I like the controller and want the hybrid drive, trying to see if I can grab it on a crackhead deal between now and the launch of the S.

TYRONE GA!
Why should Sony copy this? They're number 1.

Agreed. I'm sure there will be "unofficial" upgrades to the NEO. But Scorpio.....next year? You'll be lucky to get 100 bucks for an OG Larrybox since the S will have been in the stores for a year by next year.

They will. It's better for the industry for people to move forward and leave the old behind.
When you making money hand over fist you tend not to do freebies. Microsoft does it to boost lower sales

Nah, this has always been the case.

Why does this forum like to just throw out gaming history out the window when convenient? You ALWAYS have a nice option to upgrade to because retailers want to ensure that it keeps the customers happy and able to enjoy the latest and greatest at as affordable as possible. Is Sony going to be as aggressive as Microsoft? Probably not, but let's not kid ourselves that Sony would rather push more NEO units than the original PS4 once it is out in the wild.

When was the last time Sony did that? I've seen Gamestop do it themselves from time to time but Sony stopped doing it when the PS4 was the clear market leader. Microsoft eats losses on that program. Why would Sony choose to take those same losses when they're the market leader which is why those PS4 trade up programs stopped a long time ago from them.

Gamestop only does what they can and I highly doubt Gamestop or Best Buy are willingly taking big losses without a deal made in the background. Deals are always made in the background that don't necessarily become public...Phil Spencer and the new team at Microsoft are just unusually transparent when it comes to these things.

You guys seem to underestimate how much power those 2 companies have in the gaming industry...hell Gamestop is the only reason we still have used games around.

It became so rare that one of our posters did one of the Microsoft deals then took the Xbox One to Walmart and tricked them into letting him get return credit to get a PS4. Hell I can't even remember the last PS4 trade in deal I saw. The last Xbox One deal I remember was a month or so ago.

The last PS4 deal at Gamestop was a $250 credit for an XBOX ONE towards a new PS4. I remember as I traded a spare XBOX ONE I grabbed for $100 to do it. It was about 2 months ago.

Can't remember the last time they offered $150 for a 360/PS3 for a PS4 or XBOX ONE, but it wasn't that long ago.

Also, this is part of the reason I laugh at people who consider console gaming expensive yet buy all sorts of other expensive shyt such as phones every year.
