This is why progressives lose. You are removed from the reality of the state of the working class and labor in this country. You don't understand how current wages don't stand up to historic rates when adjusted for inflation. You don't understand that while unemployment is down, the quality of work, wages, length of employment and benefits have been reduced significantly. You don't understand the tax rate is disproportionate. You don't understand that wages haven't kept up with the cost of living. You don't understand that the recovery from 2008 was at the expense of the taxpayer, most of whom are working class individuals.

This is why you ignore the data. You measure success the same way a Republican measures success. Congratulations. Enjoy the record corporate profits and high Dow Jones IA.

1. Tax rate is disproportionate to allow for more investing into American companies - but US did riase this. You are ignorant of the mechanism of how to power a country. If I invest my money with the risk of losing it all and I make a gain, why should I be taxed at the same rate as someone who is working? When I lose that money do I get 20% of that back? There needs to be a balance tilted towards the investor where they are allowed to keep gains that are at risk - realistically the cap gain tax could be lower if you think about it.

2. Wages keeping up with cost of living is relative, when most of these meausrements are based on the consumers supply and demand and while you're speaking on this disparity between wages and cost of living, you have earners continuing to spend at rates prior to the recession on inflation normailized like for like basis.

3. Quality of work is also dependent on the worker involved, there are demands for certain high paying jobs that you have lack of quality workers to fill those jobs. A lot of the gaps can be explained by the fact that demand for lower waged jobs have increased while supply has not ; while more middle class jobs have supply but lack of competent workers.
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/aug/30/skilled-tech-jobs-middle-class-life/

a lot can be said aobut automation and routinezation of what were histocially middle class and lower class jobs - so there is a squeeze there but technology breeds new opportunities (such as these cities who have shown 5 year increase in middle class jobs)
https://www.wantedanalytics.com/ana...n-forbes-10-middle-class-job-producing-cities

so while you hinge your arguments on wage inequality , what I'm saying is the last 5 years the economy for low and middle class had a resurgence and while you can debate about real earnings - the 1st step is to get people employed, then worry about wage growth. Which again I refute the disparity since the 1%/10% are growing more-so due to "investment income" and tax policies and not necessarily pure wages.

its there fault, really

Yup. Plus the dems idealistically try to please everybody. The repubs are only interested in cac males with a few minority pets to do their bidding. I'm dying to see the turnout numbers to see if this is a case of minorities not showing up.

Jeb Bush with a Republican Senate and House??:patrice:

No way Jeb wins. Another repub, maybe. But the repubs are not trying to put a toxic Bush name back on the primary ballot.

Obama's biggest mistake was not making Howard Dean feel like he belonged. That Wasserman Schultz vish is clueless.

I doubt it. Just something to get rednecks to show up to the polls. And it worked. You're not gonna impeach Obama and make him sympathetic. That would be stupidity.

:what: they are stupid, this is right up their alley & they are going to try to do it. This is Murica man

They aremt politically stupid. They've basically sabotaged the government and blamed Obeezy for dysfunction and they got away with it. They want Obama right where he is, weak and in the white house. So they can continue to frame the black man

Meeks said:
“I have been pastoring for 35 years this Sunday, and nobody helped me — no city money, no state money. I have never taken any money from the county or federal government in my life,” he said.

The former state senator said it is not personal gain, but his disillusionment with his then peers in the Illinois General Assembly that is driving him.

“We have had a Democratic-controlled senate and a Democratic-controlled house and a Democratic governor for 12 years and not one thing has changed for black people because the Democratic Party does not have to put us as a priority,” Meeks said.

“I have an insult level. Everybody ought to have an insult level. I am tired of watching politicians play games with the lives of black people,” he said.

:patrice:

I don't know what's going to happen now, but from his comments he sounds like he went with Rauner to spite the Dems for not following through on their promises.
