I hope you understand that most of them are artists and not businessmen.no Atlanta artist should be signing deals...if you can get a wave down there, the artist/producers that are already poppin will fukk with you and hop on a track or ask for a feature...you can get you name out off that...throw music on iTunes cause if people want it for free, they gonna get it anyway...build relationships in the city and the nation will catch on...
They need people to take care of samples, paying producers, engineers, studios, tours, features and on. Usually you can get a manager to do all that, but if you don't have any bread you need a deal cause the banks won't front you.
managers is the real cost, 15-20% 360.
Labels make a case for their price, they charge you an interest rate for the money they put up. The smaller the risk the less they charge. Managers however, few of them are worth the percentage they charge. They shouldn't sign deal too quick though or you should do like Macklemore or someone and sign deals for every album/single etc. But you need some crazy success for that.
