But they're really high up there.

And then I listed the avg/obp/slug. As well as the fact he plays the hardest position and caught a rookie rotation. :beli:

HHR pointed out his horrible OBP and his defensive liability as a catcher. The power is impressive but Bryce is better all around player.

Harper isn't necessarily a defensive wizard either. :comeon:

Actually, Rosario has a better fielding %. And he's a first-year catcher. Catching one of the worst rotations in the entire league. A rotation who has thrown about 100 wild pitches. Meanwhile he's thrown out 30 of 89 base-stealers.

I mean, y'all can just admit it, as far as publicity goes, Harper > Rosario.

In 86 starts at CF he has 4 errors and a .981 fielding %(which is a worthless stat)His UZR is 8.5 UZR/150 is 16.0 and DRS 13 in CF

Rosario has the most errors at C with 13 with caught stealing percentage of 35%

You don't even want to factor in the impact Harper has on the base paths. The irony is that Harper came up as a catcher and is still learning the OF position.

:skip: Gimmie the stats on the pitching staff that Rosario is catching.

They have the highest number of wild pitches in the entire majors. Any catcher who catches them is going to have a lot of errors. Not even making excuses for Rosario's defense (because it isn't that good) but wild pitches and passed balls are for the most part subjective, so his errors could be inflated.

But what we do know is that he's a better hitter than Harper. Even with all of your sabermetrics. Harper's more flashy though, give him the award.

-ignores both of them and pleads case for Matt Carpenter. :salute:

 for him.

:drunk:

Give him the MVP unanimously please...you fakkit ass, grudge-holding ass, old ass baseball writers.
:heh: Those dudes are the exact reason he's GOING to win the MVP.
Come on....
C/S.

It's mainly those old dinosaurs who are at the front of his campaign. They're the ones who are still :ahh: over these more traditional stats.

He's BAD behind the plate. He has a good arm and quick release, but his blocking/receiving is brutal. And passed balls aren't errors...different stat entirely.

I watched him A LOT this year as a Rox fan, and the numbers aren't lying. He's not good behind the plate.

And how is he a better hitter than Harper? He hit for more power this year, but his OBP was 25 points lower...

Fielding percentage is a terrible way to measure anyone defensively...but ESPECIALLY catchers.

Of course he's a first-year catcher...that's why we're debating him for ROOKIE of the year :heh:

I always remeber him winning it all, in his rookie year as a Marlin.

Props, even though I think Trout should win and even though I think avg and RBI are two of the more meaningless stats its still impressive as hell he did something that aint been done in over 60 years and smthg I never thought I would see in my lifetime. Its kind of like a way more impressive cycle. Sure hitting 2 hr and 2 doubles is better than hitting a single, double, triple, and hr but its still cool to see a cycle.

Theres no more proof of how meaningless the triple crown stats are than looking at the fact that offensively Cabrera was way better the past two seasons yet didnt win the triple crown obviously. I mean his OBP was well over .400 past two seasons, this year it was .393
