I think tha point is Mike overplayed his role in that quote. He was involved in a lot of projects sure...i dont front on his resume but he makes it seem like he was tha main dude when he had more of an auxiliary role.

It comes like typical cac revionist history to me....i put respek on his name but he need to fall bac a bit with tha big ups for himself

I didn't say shyt bout the girl. More than one person can be wrong in an argument.

Exactly, you didn't say chit about the girl - but she's the reason for Mike Dean's statements.

You and the vast majority of folks in this thread didn't contextualize the comments, y'all took 'em at face value
like he was talkin' to y'all personally.

Point blank - ol' girl isn't qualified to be kickin' vested muthafuccers out of hip-hop. She deserved to be talked chit to.

breh, you're arguing with a cac and a moron. Even if you prove him wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt, he'll still ramble. it's happened before. Not even worth it.

With that said, you think Drake's stuff has a Memphis feel? To be honest, I never heard Drake's Memphis side till Started From the Bottom came out. And yeah, dude's dad is from Memphis. But I always thought that Memphis shyt was too hard for Drake in his early tween rap days. Drake prolly knew about that shyt but wasn't into it heavy until he started thugging on camera and acting harder. Those examples you posted (Hype and Energy) are post-Started From The Bottom. Drake's always come across as an Houston/ATL rapper than Memphis.
Just my 2c :yeshrug:I'm asking your opinion because you seem to know what you're talking about.

:dead:

Donkey in his feelings per usual. Emotions all over the place like his teeth.

Good thing this thread went so deep so people might have forgot that the biggest ASAP Rocky stan on earth had to ask what Mike Dean has done for Hip Hop while listening to Rocky rip off the Houston sound he was apart of.

What has Mike Dean produced that's legendary? :jbhmm:

This song was before Jafar put you on in 2001 so it's understandable you didn't know....

The irony of having a fukked up grill and not knowing about the song 'Smile' :pachaha:

This shyt already happened with Rock & Roll in the 1960's. Blacks were kicked out of their own creation. By the 1970's, Jimi Hendrix was a curious side show in Rock & Roll.

What will happen is that a "white Drake" will add absolutely no innovation to the game and will eventually finish the genre. Blacks meanwhile will say F*ck this shyt and will start their own thang..Rinse and repeat.

Drake is a product of the machine :heh:

know your history:ufdup:

the first people to turn/establish hiphop into a commercial record industry/business were black people that were vets from the soul/r&B scene..not white people

Fucc what you and her sayin', Mike Dean is right.

If you disagree with what he said - you either stupid as fucc, or just don't know.
AllHipHop.com: During your time off is that when you stepped up your production game?Scarface: Stepping up?AllHipHop.com: You’ve always had a big hand in making your music, but as far as having the credits say “Produced by Scarface.”Scarface: I mean I did all that sh*t. I did a lot of that early sh*t. Like a serious amount of all my early music. But I was always shadowed by somebody who wanted the shine too. Like, [N.O. Joe], great producer. Tone Capone, great producer. Bido, great producer. And then I gotta stop. Cause all the other producers either they sound like somebody…and this is just producers out here that I work with, either you stole somebody sh*t or you don’t have your own vibe or you just push the f*cking buttons and want money for it. But that’s usually how it goes. Mike Dean is probably one of the best engineers and mixers in the world, but when it come to him making the beat for somebody, he don’t have a vibe.

I don't give a fukk bro.

But you do, though.
You upset about him defending himself.

Now what about the non-Scarface Mike Dean beats?

And how do you feel about Dr. Dre and DJ Quik?
