Ask any of the old heads when the NBA's glory days were and they'll name a time when the same 1-2 teams won every year.
- Make the regular season 62 games
Adds weight and significance to the regular season.
- Make the playoffs best of 3
Makes the playoffs more exciting and gives more teams a chance to win.
NBA would be the most exciting league hands down.

5 rookies would eat.
And I'm not sure any team likes the idea of paying big money for a raw rookie, develop them, watch them get better and then leave your team once that deal is up. That sounds like a minor league team to me

In theory a lot of that makes sense, but in practice it'll never happen. Less games = less team revenue. If the owners make less, that means the players make less. I doubt the players volunteer to take a % pay cut.
I can't think of any professional league that ever shortened it's schedule, most are looking to lengthen it
what if they all take less money to stay.
then what?
If you're gonna give rookies the freedom to sign wherever, why restrict them once their first deal is up?Most top end talents stay for at least 6 years, plus the new CBA w/ the All NBA clause will help limit player movement. Getting rid of the draft won't be perfect, but it'll be a step in the right direction.
They will most likely lose Klay, the money is going to be the same unless he gets All-NBA, and there's no rational reason to give him a supermax if he does make all-nba.
Define "less" too, because for them to retain all these guys KD and Curry will need to take $20-40 million less each this summer.
But they had rivals they had to get past to get there so at least there was something to watch before the finals
The warriors have something special brewing here. I think Lacob would have them take less and get them endorsements to recoup some of the losses from their contracts. The only person i could see go is steph because of UA pressure since KD is now a warrior. Green just reupped and klay is due soon but i think Klay knows unless he's going to be a 2nd or 3rd option somewhere else he's not going to have the success he will have at GS.
It seems KD has chosen winning over his money by going to GS and I'm sure his agent has advised him of long term implications of staying in GS based on how much money he's projected to lose to keep the core intact.
This is basic math, if all 4 guys get the supermax you'll have 4 players making damn near $200 million. Also, taking less in a city like San Francisco is not the same as taking less in a state like Texas or Florida where there's no income tax, guys took less in those situations because the difference was negligible when you factored in taxes.
I get it, that but klay is signed until 2019 and green until 2020. The only person you have to appease this year is steph.
KD has a PO next year and he signs long term then. I think they will both take less then the super max to keep green and klay when their contracts are up in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
The question is what do they do with iggy? He's a free agent after this season and he might be looking to get paid after winning his second ring and an owner might be wiling to overpay to weaken the warriors.
These are the salaries of Golden State Warriors players this season
