It's really not that much of straw man...considering he said 90% of all rappers were legit tough guys...that's the overwhelming vast majority of every rapper walking the earth....I mean if somebody is saying something that is CLEARLY hyperbolic, ridiculously exaggerated silliness born out of nostalgia and expects me to take it at face value...I have to question something, especially when COMMON FUKKING SENSE and others with even more initimate knowledge of hip hop from that era say otherwise...I'm not calling him a flat out liar or knocking or him or anything...but he's doing the same thing all these "back in the day puzzy was wetter" dudes do when they get older...it's just human nature
Yeah you're clearly caught up on the semantics of 90%...And of course it was hyperbole.. Just like when you say Wayne gets treated like the anti-christ.. The general point still remains..Rappers today are generally softer than they were 20 years ago...
But so are athletes, truck drivers, landscapers and PE teachers....It's more a reflection of enviornment...
That was the overall point he was making if you listen to the entire point in context...
And it's not even "my" era because I'm much closer in age to you than I am to Mike...It just is what it is and how it's always been...
