Personally I get it. Right people put their kids in rich schools and communities. Unfortunately, the number of black faces are very few in those space. Heck, I've seen this a work conferences number the number of black faces get slimmer the higher ranks encountered. Can't blame the kids adapting to the environments they were raised in.

Or send them to school around other rich black kids?

I understand how Iron Mike feel. Most parents want their kids to date and marry ppl that look like them. That is how ppl are socially constructed.

But, one interesting point IMT made regarding his son..

Said that his son didn't want to date girls who acted like his sister.

Found that to be interesting..

His sister is probably exhibiting masculine behavior & is turned off by it. Unfortunately, the color aspect comes into play.

So, maybe the son will gravitate toward Blk girls more if he is around those who are a lil more on the demure and feminine side of the game.

So, IMT, in a way you did answer your own question..

If endogamy was that important to you, then you should have done a better job with putting your kids in environments that would allow them to intermingle with Blk kids on their level.

Alot of parents don't realize how impactful quality time is with their kids, and how it can shape them forever. Throwing money at a nanny/butler isn't always the answer. I remember a George Foreman documentary I watched (RIP), where his son was like "I don't want to wear this shirt, cause it makes me look poor". George Foreman was like "Huh? Poor? Lets go, I'll show you what poor looks like". And he took all his kids to see Houston's 5th ward, to understand theirs a world outside of suburban CACs

To one of your points, I agree that it isn't race specific. I have a lady friend that I keep in touch with that happens to be white. Met her in college.

At one point, she had expressed interest in me, but I wasn't feeling her, so she moved on..

She eventually met a Nigerian Breh in college, married him and had 2 kids.

Fast fwd many years later, found me on Facebook and we became FB friends. She is still with her husband.

But, I vaguely remembered that she told me that the reason why she liked Blk men is because dating white men felt like dating her brother, so it turned her off.

Also, she had a bad relationship with her Dad and he may have been racist. Not sure about the latter since this was told to me back in the early mid 90s.

Your point made me think of my friend. She is a good person with a great family!

Lastly, we just have to accept that times are changing. Ppl are more tolerant and open minded about IR relations than previous generations.

Mike's kids may very well date/marry out. Their social network may not include many nor any Blk kids who have comparable personality traits.

TI made some good points. Their kids were born and raised in a more privileged environment. So, the ppl their kids grew up around may be overwhelmingly non Blk. So, that is who they gonna date.

Maybe as they get older and live life may find Blk ppl who fits their lane?
