Realistically speaking, because some people put a greater premium on the lives of non-humans than others. That's really what the difference is....

I agree with your initial point, that not all "dog lovers" are CACs.
However, I think it would be shortsighted not to acknowledge that a large percentage of people lashing out against him are doing so more from a race-related standpoint than an "animal-loving" one, even if they're doing so "in the name of dogs". It just so happens that that's the vehicle they have with which to attack him, similar to how people still attack Kobe for the rape allegations (even though they ultimately proved to be untrue) or were initially attacking Chris Brown for beating up Rihanna (I say "initially" because dude is just bringing it on himself at this point).

Not to derail the thread, but.....this reminds me of that episode of "Unsung" about Eddie Kendricks of The Temptations.
His wife said they had alot of squirrels in their yard. And one time, he accidentally ran one over in the driveway and was so distraught that he cancelled a show that night. She said he gave it a burial in the yard and ere'thing, was like "that squirrel had a family..."....and ended up not leaving the house for three days, like he was in mourning.
So yeah....people prollee really DO think shyt like that, "humanize" their pets and whatnot.
