Doggy i understand that this was a salary dump move. I am NOT necessarily speaking about this specific trade on particular. If you read the first post i made and how the conversation started you'd realize that me and homie were talking about HOW PICKS ARE OVER VALUED in the NFL. Instead you keep focusing on this particular trade and what the Dolphins were trying to do. All of us Dolphins fans knew Wallace was gone after the 3rd quarter of the last game of the season. The only question was what we could get for him
It's crazy, breh. Marshawn Lynch went to Seattle for a 4th round pick FIVE years ago. I know he was having some problems there, but they just gave him away.

then why did you bring up the point of drafting a beast in 5th round when I clearly was talking about graham and first rounder he was traded for ? did that 5th rounder come out of left field or something ?

high draft picks are valued by the NFL, 5th rounders+ are basically mostly throwaways.

you dont seem to understand the idea of salary cap. high round picks hold value because you can draft a young beast and pay him peanuts for 3 years.

that particular trade, seattle also gave away Unger, who is a top 4 center in the league, and they became 10m more cash-strapped because they have to pay graham that. that was a king's ransom for a TE who cant block to save his life, essentially a WR.

so again, seahags couldve traded for a WR like and give up only a late draft pick, instead they gave up a boatload for basically a slot WR to play on their run-first squad

This post is exactly what Im talking about. You say draft a young beast as if its guaranteed that they'll do just that at the 29th or 30th spot where Seattle will pick at when in fact there's a much higher chance that they'll draft someone who'll flame out in a few years or be no more than a minor contributor. On the other hand we KNOW that Graham is one of the top players at his position and more than likely still has 4-5 good years left in the tank. Also Unger was out most of the season last year and I think Seattle was undefeated in that stretch. But you're a 9er's fan dont let me rain on your parade :yeshrug:

when NFL teams know you want to get rid of the player no one will give you shyt. you either release the guy or get barely anything in return. its how shyt works, you have no leverage once word gets out youre trying to trade/get rid of the player

My point still remained. Picks are over valued. I was just using the 5th round pick as a damn example since you mentioned you "could get beast on the cheap"

:mjlol: Nah. TE/WR was a clear need, clear enough to possibly warrant said 1st round pick being used on the position.

Instead of praying for essentially 2nd round talent to develop into a stud, we found a guaranteed one in Graham, at the cost of Unger of course.

However, it's easier to replicate an Unger, especially in later rounds, than it is to replicate Graham.

OT: I like this for Teddy, gotta get that boy Killa some weapons now.

this doesnt have anything to do with me being a 49er fan

this has everything to do with 1st round picks being extremely important in an era of salary cap

Id trade jerry rice in his prime or joe montana in his prime for the right amount of draft picks. you give me 3-4 first rounders for each and Ill trade them away without thinking more than one second

back on topic, seattle traded away a first round for percy harvin a couple of years ago, how did that turn out ? exactly

ok, and I disagree. picks are valued pretty evenly right now. if anything midround picks like 3rd rounders are underrated, imo.

like Ive said, I said the same thing about percy couple of years ago and the two and a half m...er, seahawk fans on this board called me salty.

seattle shouldve been focused on keeping their D together, their passing offense is nearly irrelevant in the grand scheme. if d aint dominating they arent winning shyt, just like dozens of other teams

Nah still overrated IMO.

Like if I'm a team i dire need of a receiver and Mike Wallace is available to me i'd give up a third in a heartbeat. At least i know what I'm getting unlike the pick where you do NOT know.
Like i said, maybe thats why I'm not in an NFL FO and just here talking out of my ass with you fools :pachaha:

How's Teddy's deep ball accuracy? Surely can't be worse than Tannehill's right?:lupe:

Anyway I thought wallace got a bad rap here. But glad that contract is off the books:whew:

maybe we draft the home town speedster Phillip Dorsett to replace him:patrice:

Breh, no fukking GM is giving up a 3rd round pick for a 11.5m cap hit Mike fukking Wallace. Especially when word was out the Phins wanted to get rid of him. The guy is being paid more then Gronk for christ sakes.

Percy was key in their SB win :yeshrug:. Obviously that trade was an L on paper but the Hawks still got theirs from it while the Vikings have done what since then? Same way the Rams obviously robbed the Redskins with RG3 but haven't done shyt with those picks either. There's 2 sides to the story in this discussion.
