It funny because no one gave Woodson credit last year yet he gets the blame when he loses , it's not about the media, I actually think he can work in the NBA again, I just think college is a better job at this point. I think the front office deserves way morem blame, trading for Bargnani was a poor decision. Losing Steve Novak hurt them. Tyson Chandler talks a big game but has been next to useless. The thing is the NBA is a player driven league and when things go bad the coach takes an unncessary brunt of the blame, I know Phil Jackson likes Steve Kerr as the potential replacement but I think Woodson, should have at least been given the beginning of next season.

Everybody gave him credit for turning their defense around at the beginning of his tenure in NY but the defense quickly returned to poor form. Bargs averaged 13ppg, 5 rpg, played great 1-on-1 defense (his help defense has always been bad), and shot 48% from mid-range, making bigs have to guard him. Novak averaged 6ppg, less than 2rpg, and played awful 1-on-1 defense and awful defense. I don't have to talk about Camby. Novak and Camby had higher contracts that would have still been on the books, which was likely the main reason for the trade. Phil has already told the players that some of them won't be back, just like Woodson and his whole coaching staff. No, Woodson should have been cut, like some of the players should and will be. Woodson clearly threw a lot of games. The best evidence of Woodson this (and there is
much) is when he called a time out to stop the momentum when
his team was making a run to get back into the Portland game at MSG. The 1st Wizards time out situation where he “forgot” to call one was no accident. The 2nd Wizards time out situation where he intentionally wasted one to put them in position to be out of time outs at the end of the game was no accident. It's Woodson's fault for being willing to play along, even if Dolan promised job security.Whether it's Kerr or not, Woodson was likely fired (more than for any other reason) because Phil
hates D'Antoni's spot-up shooting offense and Woodson's iso heavy offense (he criticized both) and wants to implement a completely different system.
