"I remember one time - it might have been a couple times - at the Fillmore East in 1970, I was opening for this sorry-ass cat named Steve Miller. Steve Miller didn't have his shyt going for him, so I'm pissed because I got to open for this non-playing motherfukker just because he had one or two sorry-ass records out. So I would come late and he would have to go on first and then we got there we smoked the motherfukking place, everybody dug it."

"You play on beat because you came out of slavery?" WTF kinda racist logic was that?

Miles was so smooth in that 2nd interview tho: "Don't tell 'em nothing.. let 'em guess" :salute:

If you don't listen to good jazz, you lost. If you listen to Rick Ross but not Miles or Mingus, you need to re-evaluate your life.

No lie a chick a met a few years ago was bragging and proudly told me : " i listen to ALLLLL kinds of diverse music, i listen to Rnb AND rap"

That's such a standard answer nowadays. Half the people I went to highschool with say that, but they all listen to the same few things- hip-hop, r&b, dancehall, and maybe reggaeton. People really have such a narrow view of music...

This is an excerpt from Miles Davis' autobiography in which he talks about Charlie 'Bird' Parker.

Miles was a ridiculously skilled musician, changed the game of jazz like it was nothing. Switched to another style and ended up creating jazz fusion. I still need to grab the autobiography. Favorite album has to be Miles Ahead.

Dude seen the white lady on the cover and told them to "take that white bytch off".
