Widespread. Won’t happen.

We still need to address why cost went up and it’s partly our fault. These school went from places to go and leave to “party schools” and dorms with amenities like it’s a New York condo in a Nancy Meyers film.

Advances in tech won’t help unfortunately cause that’s partly driving the cost instead of bringing it down for textbooks and online classes.

Blame the banks for jacking up the rates with artificial demand of school loans.

That’s part. But there’s also a competition amongst schools to have certain amenities and activities that don’t further higher education but add to the cost of reputation these parents are chasing.

Goes hand in hand with football coaches being paid like NFL coaches in a handful of schools so other “lesser” school try to compete on a level they don’t need to.

B b bu but competition drives prices down. :troll:

These schools have all these strip mall-like food places and activities, it's almost as if they have their own community of overpriced goods.

It's not our fault at all. The shyt was designed this way by the powers that be, and won't shyt change unless people start to get violent over it. The wicked brilliance in this con job is that the people who are with the shyts enough to get violent enough aren't taking out student loans in the first place and education is taught in a way to neuter the nuts necessary to wage the level of violence necessary for changes to be made out of the few fighters who went and signed their souls over to the devil.:francis:

Bro the government are the people who are directly responsible for the hyperinflation of college tuition. They sat down and planned all this shyt out and were well aware this is what would happen and aren't about to do shyt to change it until they come up with a better finesse to keep the pyramid system in place. So unless there is large scale violence we just gonna have to eat these student loans until they come up with a more insidious way to maintain the pyramid :francis:

FHA loan? Yea 3.5% to 10% depending on credit and they do allow you to have as low as 580 credit.

In Brooklyn virtually all home buyers are using this loan now.

But you do get an additional cost of PMI.

Personally, I think the PMI costs are worth it versus what you’d sinking in rent costs each month that earn you no equity :yeshrug:

It would drive down prices but it doesn't because the government backs students loans, so schools can raise prices as they see fit

So the government is doing this because they dont believe in disposable income for the majority or class mobility? To keep people "in line?"

Selective? Probably but that is a dangerous game to play. You have to remember that a majority of this debt is owed to the government by direct disbursement or backed by guarantee...the government is also accountable to the markets, too much debt forgiveness is not going to look good on the books. Bad debt is bad debt and they will attempt to keep the citizens on the hook for as long as they can.
No, they won't. Student loan debt is affecting every facet of the economy right now. This country will look totally different 20 years from now if something isn't changed. Govt knows this. A change is inevitable. This recession coming is going to be worse than 2008, imo, and they will have to go to drastic measures to get shyt under control.
