Could you guys live in an RV for an entire year? Or even better a van? What about quitting your job that pays 70k per year to work at a grocery store? Could you do it all in the name happiness?
Are you willing to renounce this materialistic society and live under the radar?
I have 50k in student debt, a car note, a relatively well paying job that I am not too passionate about. Overall, when I look at my lifestyle and the decisons I made I just see waste and excess. Mind you, this is coming from someone who is far less materialistic than most.
To be honest if I was single I would probaby save up enough to buy an RV or large van and live in there until my student debt is payed off. Then I would quit my well paying job and work at Wholefoods or some grocery store while focused on my true passions in life.
I had an epiphany this past month that most of modern society is all built upon an illusion. We live 75% of our lives disillusioned into believing that material wealth is the pinnacle of all success. We spend most of our waking life in a job we hate interacting with people we dont like. This is tragic. I came to the conclusion that we ultimately do not know anything and our entire sense of self is built upon lies. But enough of me philosophizing -

On a side note you'll see that the majority of these videos feature whites. However, I feel the minimalist lifestyle can greatly enhance the happiness of many blacks. Our culture tends to be overly materialistic and I think much of it is due to being historically oppressed. When you are made to feel less than, you will over compensate with "things". This has happened to us on collective level. Could minimaliam be key to our liberation? food for thought
