It kind of irks me how they'll rally behind the subpar players. Jason Collins, Michael Sam, and now possibly this guy.
Its not like they can pick and choose. Whoever they can get to come out to be first is all they want, just for the cause. Guys that are already big in the game aren't gonna come out. You can argue it may lead to even more money and endorsements, but peers and public perception will be on a decline.
