I just wish I could hear the Mint Boys run it live one time the og way with the sax break.. It's one of my favorite parts next to the drums, the breakdown and their harmony :salute:

This new live version took some adjusting but what I love is that every time Mint goes into this they always go left and jam at the end

Appreciate the catalog, the catalog. For close to 3 decades this band has existed. :whoo:They outlived the Tony's & took up the slack for Jodeci when they went on hiatus for 20 years or so.:mjcry:

So many dope songs...

The Goat on this one: What he does with the Prince influence on this one & Jimmy Jam knew what he had with M.C. :wow:

They always had the cut no one else had. :blessed:

Scary musicians... they were raised under the best. You hear that bassline and boom bap? NO ONE was doing that.

9 albums released, these cats were diverse as fukk as the styles they covered :takedat:

Jason's Lyric when they did a track w/ the iceman. They didn't get Clapton, they got Collins. :wow:

If you breh's arent up on Albert Collins, just realize he's part of the architect of Jimi's funky blues sound along with another Albert: Albert King & Buddy Guy. I only kick facts, fam.

But that's how good M.C. was, they could backup legends or do legendary performances. :leostare:

I think that was a tribute remix with Ice Man's guitar on it 'cause he died a year before Jason's Lyric came out.. this was one of the last tracks he did before passed...

..Since it was set in H-Town if they didn't call Albert they coulda called Johnny "Guitar" Watson since they're from the same city and Tejas blues class

So accurate. I'll be listening to bryson tiller like this shyt dope til some real r&b come on my playlist. These new nikkas are really talentless singers for the most part.
I have a theory about why Tiller sounds so bland. They don't care about the music to the level that these bands do & haven't really listened to shyt. Drake & Ovo affiliates don't count as studying, you are just going to sound like one narrow tiny thing. The other thing is if you sing, you sing without anyone telling you "Where is the dynamic in your voice" You will never learn. Kids like that are missing something because there is no one in the room to say "It doesn't sound like you want to be here" You need that moment of someone pointing out you could be better.

If M.C. came out in mid eighties, they would sound like a Prince & Revolution clone. M.C. needed people to tell them "Find your own sound & don't sound like you just love Purple One" That took years of rejection and club dates.

It might have been or they recorded it with him before he passed and then gave it to Jason's Lyric. Not sure on the background of the recording. :yeshrug:

Wait I remember now because I had a old issue of Guitar Player with Albert around the time that talks about the album.. It was Albert retouching his classics with new blood and "Trouble" was him and Gary Moore from Thin Lzzy... Since I heard it in the movie then I had to know who was playin the axe while Jason was bangin Lyric in the TV Shop :pachaha:
